Ambiance: we did call first because we saw the post about not sitting in the new area. That was true . We did end up sitting inside where there was air conditioning. If weather allows, outside would be a better choice. It was pretty loud with all the large parties and we were on folding tables. Not the nicest of ambiance. Service was good. Pretty crowded for a Saturday night but got our food and drinks right away. Didnt get a whole lot of attention after that but didnt really need a lot. Food...it was good. Parm and hamburger was okay. I'd return for the pizza. The crust was nice and crispy and the sauces were very flavorful. Much larger than anticipated.Pie was pushed it to another level.

I arrived around 11:40am on a Sunday. I was originally told there was a 45 minute wait for a table. It was not busy, and there plenty of places to sit - inside and outside. Very odd. I ended up being seated in less time (about 15 minutes). The patio was open so I dined outside. The bar tender was nice and attentive. She was working hard. So her service was adequate, but the amount of time it took for the meal to come out was a bit excessive. From the time I was seated, it took about 85 minutes to get my meal. The onion rings did come out first, which were fine. Crunchy - not soggy. The sliders were decent. Fries were fine. Waffles & chicken were okay. Nothing life altering as far as the food itself.Just know this - you should NOT come here if you are in a rush or want to be in and out. It's not that type of place. You're going to be sitting and waiting. It was a decent meal.

We visited the Canteen for Saturday Brunch. I had the Mariachi Omelet...wow...what a plate! The 3 egg omelet was stuffed...and I mean STUFFED...with Jalapeno cheddar sausage, chorizo, pepper jack cheese, onions & bell peppers topped with fired jalapeno "nickels" with 1/2 a plate of breakfast potatoes! All of this was accompanied by a Bloody Maria!My wife and our friends got the pancake breakfast and Mimosas. None of us could finish our meals...definitely you get what you pay for here!The food was amazing! The service was stellar! We were so impressed that we all came back later that evening for drinks and apps...which were all as good as what we had experienced at Brunch. The only disappointment we had was that it was overcast & we couldn't watch the sunset! This is the place to visit if you're in Lebanon and worth the trip from Nashville area if you are wanting an amazing laid back experience on Old Hickory Lake! We will be going back soon!

Great remodel job on the entire restaurant. They always seem short staffed. One pregnant waitress at lunch. I felt like I should hop up and bus tables for her. Comfortable seating overlooking the Cumberland. The shrimp appetizer is delicious. I'd order a side of bread or steal your friend's pizza crust for sopping up the sauce. It's my favorite. Pizza is quite good too. Weekends are very busy. Weekday lunch has been the easiest time to get a table quickly. Very nice outdoor space.

Really wanted to love this place, we were excited to try it. We came to Cherokee Steakhouse in the past, so we were excited to come here, assumed it would be a similar experience. Right away the hostess had a bad attitude and acted like we are inconveniencing her by asking for a table. It was going to be a 45 minute wait--Saturday night on the lake, we understand, don't mind waiting. So we asked if we could sit at these tables with some drinks for the bar while we waited for the table. She goes yeah but you won't get a table any faster. Like we're trying to con the system by sitting at one of many empty tables with drinks from the bar. The bartender was great, and said yall can actually sit there and we will serve you. So we sit down, then we were told we can't sit there, a table of 10 is coming for that table. Then 10 minutes later they were like okay yall can sit there. It took a while to get a few things we asked for, had to ask for water 3 times. I can handle some bad attitudes as long as the food is good, but it wasn't. I wouldn't have even bothered to write a review if it was just the service that wasn't great, but the food was terrible. Super salty, and strange. The french dip was slathered in mayonnaise. The steak was chewy and salty. Someone in our group did say the burger was good, so there's that. It was just an overall lackluster dining experience.

We went there last night and it was GREAT! Tori was our server and it could not have been better. Food was very, portions were very generous and there was plenty of help. Had Brunch/Lunch on the outside patio, October 28, 2023, 8 in our party. Ashley was our bartender server and took very good care of us. Food was good and portions were extremely generous the breakfast burrito was gargantuan! Great view and laid back vibe.

The service was great. They were communicative about a large group's order that had gone in which would make us have to wait a little bit, but even the wait wasn't bad. I love when people communicate with you though. It's probably what made the wait not seem like a big deal.My husband said the Mariachi omelet was really good. He saw a burrito being delivered and was second guessing his choice, but he was very happy when he got his omelet. He said it was spicy and very tasty. It was also very large which makes the price a bit more tolerable.I had The Euro Snob. There were only a couple of egg choices that were vegetarian and I do love a good Eggs Benedict. This was on brioche with Gouda, shrimp, and truffle hollandaise. I had barely gotten my food when the cook delivered a sprinkling of the truffle powder. She said I'd want it and she was right. That's one of the biggest reasons I ordered the dish. The dish needed the truffle to balance the sweetness from the brioche. It wasn't until I finished the dish that I remembered it was supposed to come with tomato. That would have added and acid and I think that would have made the dish almost perfect. It was yummy. I wish the Gouda and truffle were heated with the hollandaise to make a nice creamy sauce. The Gouda was in shreds. Again, this was a very tasty dish, but it was so close to perfection you start to notice where it needs a little tweak. I would have loved this dish with a lightly dressed leafy salad. I guess I'm being snobby. We had an eggcellent meal, service was great, patio seating was nice, and live music was fantastic.

Amazing experience both times I have been there. My first time was during the week with just my husband as we live nearby and always enjoy something different from the chain restaurants while supporting our local businesses. We enjoyed breakfast at that time and even were able to sit outside by the water in good weather. We were seated immediately with no wait. The food was amazing and the portions were large enough to have leftovers to take home. The service was excellent as our server was very helpful with suggestions on what to try and explained any questions we had concerning the menu. Our food arrived hot and without much delay. We liked everything so well that we returned with our entire family of 13 about two weeks later. We had reservations this time, were seated inside in the a/c since it was rather hot outside, and again the menu options were amazing except when you arrive at 11:00 a.m. you have a choice of breakfast or lunch. With 13 people including children this time, everyone ordered something different. Our server was a different one from our previous visit and again she was very helpful with any questions concerning the menu since we did have gluten free dietary needs this time and made suggestions on her faves. Our food arrived again in a timely manner and everything was cooked perfectly to order. Our server was very attentive to our needs and the entire party was happy with their decisions. Looking forward to returning for another visit soon. While sitting inside is nice, be sure to try outside when the weather suits your taste! Worth the stop for breakfast or brunch. Will try to get back for lunch at dinner sometime. Very good.
