This place is dangerously good!I saw this when I was looking for lunch and I knew what had to be done.IT WAS DELICIOUS. Service was quick and the food was phenomenal. I got it to go so I have no picture or ambiance vibe for this review but know it was amazing!

I didn't know this was a popular Japanese chain when I chose to come here but I was excited to try a decently rated fried chicken place. I would say the chicken is definitely good quality Asian style fried chicken but the sides were sub-par.I ordered the 8 piece Signature chicken (not the boneless or wings) which was a nice & decent variation of drummettes, small wing, and a tiny breast piece. I chose the garlic sauce and I really like the flavor. It was slightly sweet and garlicky. For sides, I ordered the onion rings and was disappointed. I had a few but the rest wasn't worth stomach space. I also had the seaweed roll (kim Mari) which was ok but it felt liked I needed soy sauce for it.Overall, great for the chicken but can't recommend the other sides.

Great tasting fried chicken! Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Portion was also pretty big. We got the honey soy and this marinade was really good. Servers were nice and friendly. We had to wait a good 10-15 mins for the food to be ready but it was worth because the chicken was still piping hot and fresh. Would like to come back and try their other items.

Food is really amazing here. I really enjoyed their original fried chicken n tomatoes and the mild flavored whole chicken. The owner was very friendly and generous with free sides and sauces. l enjoyed the tomatoes that was similar to salsa. The tomatoes make this place unique.I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Korean fried chicken to stop by and try their food. Will be coming back to try other flavors as well. Inside of the restaurant is very well put together and perfect for dine in. Good for quick bites as well as getting it to go.I would recommend their chicken with sauces over the original fried chicken as some of the pieces in the fried chicken were dry. They could improve on their original by having more crisp and distinctive flavor.Thank you for all that you guys do cheers to the restaurant and the business.

I got the lunch special for $15.62 (including tax), which comes with 4 boneless and 4 wings, coleslaw, and your choice of white or fried rice. I chose the classic mild as my sauce. The chicken at Crispy Chicken n' Tomato is pretty good! I like the crispy outside and juicy inside. The classic mild was pretty spicy for a mild, it's definitely more of a medium hot. I prefer Pelicana Chicken on Convoy more just because the chicken pieces are bigger and I like their sauce. However, I really enjoyed Chicken n' Tomato's lunch box concept! It was very cute and came with a free drink. Great service too. Shout out to the cashier who let me try the Black Aglio sauce on the side because I couldn't choose between their two sauces. Would come by again if I was in the area for lunch :)

4.5 starsCame here to try this new Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) place in La Jolla. They are located in La Jolla Village Square on the lower level on the outside near Ike's, the Kebab Shop, Crumbl and the trolly station parking structure.I came during lunch hours and got one of the lunch specials (everyday 11-3) I chose the Chicken plate; 4 boneless, 4 chicken wings, corn slaw and veggie fried rice. I chose the classic mild spicy as my flavor. I also split 2 small orders of wings; Black Aglio and Chicken the Yori. The chicken itself had a very nice fried crust on them and provided a very nice crunch. Black Aglio (Garlic in Italian) was a mixture of soy sauce and garlic, the garlic flavor wasn't too strong. Chicken the Yori had a sauce made with Garlic, chili, soy sauce and spices. They were each a different flavor but the difference was subtle. I think I liked Chicken the Yori the best it was the most spicy but still mild by my taste. If you like spicy I'd say try the Monster. The corn slaw and veggie fried rice weren't that special, but it was nice to have some kind of starch between the bites of chicken. I'd prefer just plain white rice. I found it odd that the fried rice was offered as a lunch special but not as a side also that white rice was not offered. I think I might try the Yakisoba lunch special next time. They also came with small sides of tomato relish and pickled radish and jalapeño, I though they were both not necessary. The tomato relish tasted a little old, not gone bad just not fresh, anyhow I didn't see how it went with fried chicken. The radish and jalapeños were also not as good a palate cleanser as the traditional pickled dikon.Service was quick and friendly, theres seating both inside and out. Theres lots of parking as its in a mall, I easily found parking downstairs right in front. Id definitely choose this as a place to eat before or after the movies. The fried chicken is crispy and tasty, im just not sold on the sides and accompaniments.

The previous Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) chain sold their business to new owners who have brought Crispy Chicken n' Tomato to replace all of the locations in the SD area. This happens to be the #1 KFC business in Japan with the shop in La Jolla Village Square being the first one to debut recently. The inside capacity was close to 60 with several tables on the sidewalk out front for additional seating. Whole chicken, wings, and boneless pieces were available in different portions with nine different sauces and three kinds of seasonings to flavor the chicken. On my first visit last week, I picked a half (8 pcs) chicken with sauce. Honey Soy was my choice. A cup of tomato salsa (similar to pico de gallo) and a cup of sweet pickled radish n' jalapeno came with the order. When I brought a friend for a return visit, we split two small (8 pcs) orders of wings with Black Aglio and Chicken the Yori as the sauces. We also purchased one of the four Lunch Specials which was the Chicken Plate. The set had four boneless pieces, four wings, corn slaw, and veggie fried rice. Classic Mild was our sauce choice for the chicken. The crust on the chicken was fairly crunchy while the size of the wings was average. Below was a description of each sauce type. What I did like was how none of them was overly salty. My favorite was the Chicken the Yori.* Honey Soy - special soy sauce, slightly spicy yet sweet* Black Aglio - special soy sauce inspired with garlic* Chicken the Yori - special soy sauce marinated with garlic, chili, and a hint of spice* Classic Mild - mild spicy with a hint of sweetnessThe Lunch Special was available from 11 am to 3 pm every day. While the selection of sauces was limited to one of three, the price for the amount of food was the best value. Six appetizers and seven sides provided more variety if you wanted something besides chicken. Orders took about 15 minutes to prepare as the kitchen made them fresh. Between the two experiences, I gave a four star rating for the food at Crispy Chicken n' Tomato.

Still no refund and still no callback! Do not place an online order at this place. I have left several voicemails with my phone number and my order number so I am not sure what the issue is at this point.
