Great place for brunch. Food is delicious and you can find some alligator meat which is fantastic. Quiche is the best one I've had so far. Ambience is nice and the service is really good. People are ate very friendly.

This place is the real deal! The owner flys in all his ingredients from New Orleans so its super authentic. Straight from the south! Everything is so good, the owner and the servers are so nice and accommodating. Hampton the owner makes everything from scratch and every recipe is past down from this family recipes! Grandma to be exact lol Try the crayfish it's bomb. I will definitely be back to try all the other food that's on the menu! Only open Thursday-Sunday. All Mardi Gras and New Orleans theme!Great little restaurant if you want a homie feel and great comfort food.

I've been missing fried gator for ages, and decided to randomly do a Google search to see if there was any place locally that had it. Lo and behold, there is a place, and by golly gee willikers the mofo is in my backyard! AND ITS GLORIOUS!Went here with a friend (after some convincing and begging) and we sat on the comfy couch for maybe 30 seconds before we were greeted by the loveliest waitress, Jane. It happened to be her first day, but she was so pleasant and eager to tell us how wonderful the food is there (she said it's so good she just had to work there a few days a week) etc. I already knew what I wanted - my long-awaited fried gator, but also I saw pics of the Etouffee on Yelp and thought why not. Oh sweet baby Jesus. Sweet, glorious, tiny, bright shining Jesus. That Etouffee. Dat gator. Kindly please expand your hours Creole Soul - cause I need to expand my waste line!

What a great little gem in Des Moines. Dropped in on Friday night for dinner and drinks. Enjoyed the Friday special of Po Boys, shrimp and grits and the vegan stew. So delicious. The service was great and even got to chatting with another couple from the neighborhood. Will for sure be back!

The owners and staff are the best. The food is also exceptional as are the drinks! Anything here that has catfish is my favorite and the banana pudding, if it hasn't sold out!

A hidden gem in Des Moines, I really enjoyed the food and friendly customer service. When your son isn't a shrimp fan, but gobbles up your shrimp po boy. You know they're doing everything right here.We got the Shrimp Poboy, the Etoufee, and Banana Pudding. The sandwich was tangy and savory from the sauce and pickles which soaked into the bread nicely. At first I thought the bread was dry, but if you think about it the sauce wouldn't soak as well. It was my first time trying etoufee and I'm such a fan. Originally, I wanted to try the jambalaya, but that's only served on Thursdays. I'm glad we tried the etoufee out. Every bite of the creamy stew had a nice chunk of crawfish. Lastly, you can never go wrong with banana pudding. Although, they aren't a kid-friendly restaurant. For families, it's worth ordering to-go and eating by the marina. You won't regret it.

I took my friend there to celebrate her engagement, but the experience was a letdown. We were eager to enjoy the food, but the Jambalaya was served cold and had to be reheated for several guests. My friend found the Jambalaya unsatisfactory, especially with the addition of crawfish, which she didn't like at all. The chef addressed the issue, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. I ordered fried pickles, which are usually my favorite, but they were excessively greasy. While the drinks were good, the overall dining experience was disappointing.
