Crafty Beer Shop

This is one of the first bottle shops I came to when we moved to the area a few years ago. This is the second of two Crafty locations, the other is in Five Points in Raleigh if I'm not mistaken. They always have a great selection of local and out of state craft beers. If you prefer a foreign beer, they have offerings from many producers from a England, Belgium, Germany, Ireland and so on. They also have a nice rotating selection of drafts that change monthly. The interior is nicely decorated and they are plenty of places to sit and enjoy a pint or two. When the weather is nice you can also sit outside or, enjoy your beer with takeout from one of the many restaurants in Lafayette Village. And, if you enjoy playing Golden Tee (online video golf game), they have one on site. Definitely stop by if you're in LV.

I stumbled into Crafty Beer Shop with my eyes only seeing the giant banner from the grass area of Lafayette Village, not knowing I was about to fall in love with a new place. I assumed this was going to be a quick stop to buy some canned beers but boy, was I wrong. The dimmed and warm lighting was welcoming and cozy. The industrial lamps and chairs, leather sofas, and wooden paneled walls felt like home. Then I heard the Irish music playing on the sound system. We were greeted nicely by the bartender and we're handed the beer of our choices, tab opened...we were going to be here longer than we had planned. As we walked around with our 10oz of beer, we scanned the room for which beers we were going to bring home with us and enjoy. We had an idea and sat down on the comfortable couch next to a window and hung out, listening to the lovely Irish music while we people watched. After placing our empty glasses at the bar and checked out with our 7 cans of flavored beers ranging from pale ales to sours and dark wheats, we chatted up the bartender about his Clerks shirt and horror movies. He was a cool bartender, though being very new on the job, was the perfect addition to this very awesome bar. Hidden away from me until now, I have truly fallen in love with this cozy bar and beer shop.

This beer shop had a decent selection of beer on tap and cans available to purchase. I liked that most beers were available in a 10 or 16 oz pour. There are also options in the cooler, the selection was a little slim and there is a $2 corkage fee. I think that I will like this place better post-COVID. The staff members were not wearing masks so I think that creates a more laid back environment to not follow the rules, luckily most wore masks. The bar has areas blocked off to allow for socially distanced seating, I just wish they had a dedicated area for others to order and purchase beer. If you plan to visit, I recommend sitting outside if you can.

My personal favorite bar. Warm and comfortable vibes inside. Drinks are great and the bartenders are all awesome. Indoor and outdoor seating. Everywhere you sit will be comfortable. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for a beer on our way to dinner and was very happy we did. There is a bit of an industrial feel to this shop with a warm and welcoming feel to it as well. The long bar has plenty of seating, we found a comfortable little couch near the entrance to sit at. They have PLENTY of very unique and great tasting beers to choose from, so which ever side of the scale your drinking on I am sure you will find something. They also have a selection of bottled beer on the shelves for sale. I prefer a dark and complicated beer, something that taste like anything but the typical BEER and they had just the thing for me. From founders brewing, it was a flavored stout called KBS and it was ale brewed with chocolate and coffee and aged in bourbon barrels. We purchased the remainder of what they had in stock on the way out. Shortly after we arrived the live music started up, a very talented musician who also had a very good voice and excellent selection of songs he sang. We will be returning very soon.Cheers!

I've made a check-in that shows the substitution of beer shelving and coolers 4 customer seating areas. This is the latest trend for crafty. They are going less bottle shop and More bar. Kirk and Jason are very attentive barkeeps and keep their noses to the new brewery trends. The draft selection reflects well-rounded beer menu. You can still purchase beer off the shelf, but the choices are a quarter of what they used to be. They also have a $2 corking fee 4 the cold choices in the fridge.

Located in Lafayette Village. Loads of options for beer. Friendly bartenders that allow you to taste before you buy. Outdoor seating that looks out on the green. Great place to stop by after dinner. Drafts and bottles or flights. Hard cider was my drink of choice.

I agree with the relaxed atmosphere that folks have pointed out. I asked if there was any Saranac, but selection was very limited, they didn't have any of the caramel porter I was longing for, but I was pointed toward a chocolate peanut butter porter that was excellent.The "bartender" (for lack of a better term) pointed out the "Untapd" app, but since my phone is too old, I could not install it.Great location, pretty good craft beer selection.

We popped into this place to check it out for the first time this past Saturday. We were in the area for an open house at a nearby business and wanted to grab a drink before going home. We found Crafty Beer Shop and noticed a large number of people outside enjoying a drink. We went inside and found a seat at the bar. The menu for the beer on draft is displayed on a TV which was very helpful. You have the option of enjoying a beverage inside or outside. If you do wish to hang out outside, they have plastic cups to enjoy the beer. Along with the draft beer, they also sell a variety of beverages. We ended up purchasing a few that my husband hadn't seen before.Overall, the vibe and experience were 5 stars. The guy behind the bar was very friendly and prompt with service. We are looking forward to coming back soon!

It's got a good selection of beer but the prices are outrageous. Once successful craft beer brewers are going bankrupt, and this beer shop is driving customers away. $9 for a semi-decent pint...seriously?
