Crab Hut

Came here for my brother's bday. I haven't been back since last year, but use to go all the time. Parking is a struggle in this plaza. They've expanded since last time I came. It's really nice with a bar and everything. We always order a pound and half of shrimp, full house, 1/2 medium with sausage and rice. They still have the best house sauce. Super flavorful and not super oily. The prices have gone up a lot to me especially rice being $5 for a small bowl. I'm guessing bc of the expansion and renovations. Maybe I'll just bring my own rice haha. Service was really friendly. He let us split checks and made it easy. Thanks dude! I will come back for special occasions.

I love this place. Every time I come to San Diego I have to stop. The service is always the Good. Well all I can tell you is roll-up your sleeves up, put your bib on and wear your gloves. And then just do what you are supposed to do.

Visited Wednesday shortly after they opened. No issues parking or being seated. Server seemed unenthused but was courteous. Brought a young teen for his first experience eating seafood cajun style. He thoroughly enjoyed it. Seafood and seasoning was good after we guessed our way through the selection process. Mixed fries were excellent and overall it was a good experience. Birthday treat was a complimentary scoop of vanilla ice cream so we ordered cinnamon beignets but they were okay (rather had powdered sugar).

Tried crab hut today. Got crab poppers, Cajun chicken pasta, and half pound headless shrimp bag. Headless shrimp bag was delicious with the full house sauce. Service was quick and always filled up my water. My pasta was more chicken than noodles, the crab poppers were ok.

I went here a few weeks ago with my mom and family friend and had a great time eating great food. We were probably one of two tables seated and sat in a booth area. They were very clear about the 18% service fee that's added to all tables as a host told us before being seated and it is on the website as well before you can view the menu to see the menu. You have to use a QR code. We ordered the sampler boat the SNS seafood combo and the lobster tail seafood combo. All of the food was pretty good.

We were sat immediately. At first it was a little confusing who was our assigned server. The guy with the bowl haircut was really good. He didn't have a name tag or I would have said who he was. Everyone's S&S was really good, except mine. The shrimp was not firm. It was mushy, then I got sick. The restaurant was clean and the music popping with the oldies.

The service is fast and the workers are very attentive if you need anything right away. We got the SnS bucket and I'd recommend it for 2 people with a small - medium appetite. I was really surprised by how fresh the raw oysters were and really liked the vinegar it came in, it was delicious! I found out that Tuesday's is happy hours all day long and oysters are half off! The ambiance was pretty normal and expected for a placed like Crab Hub.

The hostess was very nice and helpful,She helped me picked my spice level and welcomed me when I entered. I ordered half shrimp head on spicy level 7? It was really good. I got the full house and enjoyed the sauce. It was very tasty, I wouldn't say too garlicky.The food didn't take that long to come out.Parking is chaotic.... It's always packed. This place shares parking with a bunch of other restaurants. Located in the corner.

This review is for Happy Hour only. First thing to know is that parking in this plaza is famously terrible. Too many places, not enough spaces. Decent selection of craft beer in generous mugs for just $6 until 7:00. 75 cent wings have good flavor and the Buffalo sauce isn't too spicy, but MAN!, are they the smallest I've ever seen? I hope that they don't serve these doll house wings to customers paying the full $15.86 at normal times...I'd be pissed! Instead I'm just mildly amused at their blatant disdain for Happy Hour cheapskates like me!
