Love this place. My wife and I frequently stop there on our way home from our Mexico house. I usually get the shrimp quesadilla so I was somewhat apprehensive when my family wanted to meet there. They are Mexican food aficionados. They loved it! Taquitos, adobada burrito and an enchilada plate all got great reviews.I know of better spots in OC and San Diego but for Rancho Bernardo, It's a great place to stop.

Food is delicious, but don't trust that they will get your order correct. I ordered a breakfast bowl and the menu states it comes with protein, eggs, beans, salsa fresca, potatoes and cheese with sour cream/chipotle sauce.I requested the bowl with no sour cream/chipotle and bacon with everything else. I received a bowl eggs, bacon, potatoes, cheese, salsa fresca. And there's no beans it and then it's half full of rice!? Rice of which I can't eat.It doesn't even state rice in the breakfast bowl.

Very nice staff, clean and bright dining area. Comfy cute diner-like chairs, interesting menu items we will travel to try next time. Very reasonable prices, many under $10 considering what the Mexican restaurants near us charge for the same items and it's a lot cleaner here. We will report back on food shortly. Popped open the pizza box and it's definitely bigger than we imagined so I hope it tastes as good as it looks.

I had the combo cheese enchilada and chile relleno. It was one of the best chile rellenos I've ever had. The enchilada was good too. This was a delivery so I can't comment on service or ambiance.

Paid by card. Cotijas is located in the same plaza as Poke Go and Kangnam KBBQ and offers as lot of plaza parking. I went in on a Wednesday night and there were several people ahead of me to order in line. It took about 10 minutes to order because the cashier kept walking away from the cash register to cough all around the restaurant and near the drinks.I ordered the cheese quesadilla with fries and chipotle shrimp plate. Everything was so soggy and bland. I think the best thing out of both dishes was the tortilla that came with the chipotle shrimp. I would not recommend this place and wouldn't go back. It was gross how the cashier was coughing all over the place.

"New Menu" and apparently no daily specials anymore. That changes things for me dramatically.

Stopped by and ordered flautas and hubby ordered a burrito. I didn't like mine. It's dry and didn't have enough sauce. I don't think I'll stop by

I have been going here for 15 years and this will forever be my favorite bean and rice burrito but today I went in and my burrito was $6.10 I miss the days when their bean and rice burrito was $1.99. A bit confused as to why it has gone up so much in price as these ingredients are very cheap in this item. They also always mess up orders which is quite inconvenient. I ordered a bean and rice and got home to get a bean and cheese, I even confirmed with the worker that there would be no cheese. I went back to get the correct burrito and the tortillas also look very different which is kind of odd. Still tasted good but please lower your prices or you're going to lose a lot of customers :( !!

I live in Hawaii, so I needed a quick Mexican food fix in San Diego, and this was the closest within walking distance to the hotel.Indoor and outdoor seating. It is an order counter and take it to sit, and I chose "to go." The menu has all the typical options. There is a salsa bar with five salsa options, onions, lime, all to grab on your own. I grabbed a little of everything. I chose a burrito because it has been some time since I have had one. It was pretty large, so I saved half for later. The steak was flavorful, and the tortilla was amazing.

If your in the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego, I recommend that your give Cotijas a try. They offer everything Mexican including tacos, burritos, and everything else you would expect. The service here is quick, and very good. I found the staff to be welcoming, and friendly. The menu prices are very good for the food quality, and serving size: I know we the Cotijas has various locations, but they seem to be independently owned (not a traditional change). The prices, and food quality vary between the locations. This location is worth a visit. I think you will enjoy the service, along with the food.
