Hidden gem!! Let me explain why.. first off, I have yet to come downtown to a Mexican restaurant to eat authentic Mexican food and this place is no different. For authentic Mexican food you need to go to a Mexican neighborhood. The food here is on the pricier side but their brunch menu is very reasonable. Specially for being in Fulton market. I got the breakfast burrito and it was solid. 9/10I tried a bite of the milanesa torta and it was good 7/10I tried a little of the chilaquiles and they were good 7/10The only thing that let me down specially as a Peruvian was their Peruvian ceviche.. idk whoever thought adding coconut was Peruvian. I wouldn't. Have been mad if they called it ceviche de coco, but don't say it's Peruvian because it's nothing like it. 2/10The reason I call this place a hidden gem is because of their decor! The owner did an amazing job by really making to feel like you're in tulum! Overrall, Very nice decor! Good food (not very authentic) and worth coming in! Although if you just want to come for the atmosphere you can come late and they have their bar and nightlife.

Food: my friends and I tried the set menu for lunch and it is such a good deal! Since we were a group of 3 we got to try each of the entrees and appetizers. Dessert was probably my favorite part!Service: servers were very friendly!Ambiance: super cute vibe that transports you to tulum. I would say it's nice casual and in the summer really makes you feel like you are somewhere else !

Anthony below explained everything that happened. Simply put, for "management" to act as if they are a bouncer at a club with a strict dress code, and the attitude you might imagine that comes with that, is not managerial behavior, nor that of the restaurant industry. Mind you, there were at most 10 other customers in the restaurant, and our party of 6 was treated as such. Additionally our table had dirty silverware, and not recently used 'dirty', the food was dried on there leading me to believe cleanliness could be an issue here. I'll stop here but terrible experience, I won't be back & I would not recommend.

Absolutely picturesque! When I thought this place would just be a pretty face, it smacked me with some amazing drinks and pretty good food. My group ordered the giant spicy margarita and it didn't play around. It's spicy. My sinuses were definitely cleared after that lol. We ordered a few appetizers to share and individual entrees. The guacamole was so good. The queso not so much--it was not warm and starting to congeal. Some people in my group ordered Caesar salads and enjoyed it. I ordered the lobster tacos and almost died of happiness. They were so good. I let one of my friends have a bite (a small one because I wasn't trying to share fr) and she ordered it too. I would absolutely return. Don't try using your ring light though. We were admonished immediately by management for trying to achieve the perfect photos. Still managed to get some anyway lol.The server was so kind and attentive. He had a wild bunch on his hands for sure but took it like a champ.

Very cool, trendy spot in the Fulton Market section of West Loop!I have been here numerous times for brunch/lunch and dinner and it doesnt disappoint! Bar and wait staff are always nice and the ambiance puts you in the mindset of a joint actually in Tulum if you've been before. Cool little monkeys hanging from the ceiling and the overall tropical look of the place sets it all off. There is a very nice sized outdoor patio to chill on during these warmer month of course.Food here is really good as I have had the following:BrunchPina Colada French Toast (Out f'n standing!)Short Rib Chilaquiles ((Amazing)Mollete (yummy)Lunch/DinnerLobster Roll (Good)Costera Burger (Very good)Cavatelli with Sweet Corn (Chef's Kiss)Drinks here are decent as well as the Paloma, Shadows in the Jungle (old fashioned), El Secreto (tequila espresso martini) and Sandia Fuego are some really good ones to throw down.If you have't been, its a dope place to check out!

We came to try out their happy hour menu and I thought the food was pretty good but the portions were quite small, but still reasonable for the happy hour prices. Besides the guacamole and chips, everything off the happy hour menu was a bit hard to share between people without making a mess. We also tried the fish tacos off of their regular menu and my particular piece of fish happened to be way over salted. The restaurant itself is beautiful and they clearly put a lot of thought into the design. It's perfect for a fun, romantic date night.

Vibes are amazing. It really does feel like you are in a restaurant in tulum! The staff here is some of the best. Our hostess was so sweet and our waiter was amazing and brought everything out quickly!To drink I had the cocktail with mezcal, and this was sooo good! Had a little kick and very refreshing! I feel like this place is more for vibes as the food was lacking. Guacamole was fine. Could have used more lime. I got the shrimp tacos and they were very average. Nothing was seasoned. It was supposed to be passion fruit shrimp, didn't taste that. I would recommend coming here for drinks and maybe some apps!

Such an Amazing restaurant This restaurant definitely embodied the essence of Tulum (one of my fav places to vacation). The decor was on point and staff exceptional!!!!! I came with a large group, each staggering in one by one due to traffic. The staff was very accommodating. We all sat at the bar until my party arrived. We were sat towards the back in a semi private area, gorgeous seating!!!! Our waiter was very patient and helpful with any questions we had. I hate I forgot her name. Most of us ordered the shrimp tagliatelle, mines w/o peanuts. Menu is reasonably priced. First glance when food arrived, it did not look tasty... it resembled pea soup , but let me tell you... first bite was divine. Extremely tasty, fresh shrimp, and the SAUCE was banging!!!! Restaurant is a must try. Drinks were very good BUT pricey (only complaint). Will Be Back!!!!

Don't wait, make your reservation now! My first time at Costera for a girls' day out with friends was absolutely delightful. The ambiance instantly put me in Tulum with its sexy decor and enticing menu. The service was just perfection, with our server offering fantastic recommendations for both food and drinks.I started with a spicy margarita that was both delicious and refreshing, and it definitely packed a punch. Following our server's suggestion, I paired it with the asada tacos, opting for the potatoes on the side. That turned out to be a brilliant choice--the potatoes were creamy and delicious and the tacos were everything I ever wanted out of tacos!The avocado sauce added just the right amount of kick. My only regret? Ordering one order of tacos, I could have easily devoured ten! I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
