I prefer independent coffee spots than da bucks' so I decided to come by here. It's located in Two Union Square building off 6th & Union in downtown. It's on the 3rd level up the escalators near the convention center side. You're smarter than I, so you probably figured out that Cortina Cafe is related to the restaurant Cortina on the 1st level.Anyways, I go to work early and do like that they are open by 6 am. Nice display case as you walk up, they have Rubenstein Bagels, a handful of pastries, savory breakfast items, some grab & go items as well, all looks good. Recently I only decided to get a triple latte and didn't buy any food but maybe one morning I may get something. Coffee was just ok, not super flavorful or bold or robust, temperature wasn't super hot so overall it was just an ok triple latte for me. Staff was normal, I ordered, paid, made my drink, handed it to me, later gator! Prices are pretty high, so check your couch for extra coins. Plenty of seating and work areas as the seating is part of the Union Square building. We'll see, I may come back.

I'm back working in the building after Covid and this is the only coffee place that's open. I gave it a shot this week and got a salad and a dirty chai. Both were delicious! I got a grape, walnut and goat cheese salad and there was so much goat cheese it was almost too much, and I LOVE goat cheese! Will definitely come back!

Went there on my day off... was blown away with the fresh squeezed orange juice and amazing coffee. I have been around Seattle for a long time and haven't had the quality of food that I was given here... truly amazingAs far as the service, and i was greeted by a knowledgeable and professional barista, she's the one with the facial piercings, she blew me away with her knowledge of coffee and customer service skills, she knows how to treat customers. This company knows how to treat people because it showed on how their employees treat their customersOn a side note.. rice krispie treat was amazing

Bagels are amazing, but spending $3 for a tablespoon of cream cheese is absolutely ridiculous.

They stand out above the competition in this area because they serve real fresh squeezed orange juice, chocolate and almond croissants at a noticeable higher level above most out there, and unique tasty bagels that are properly hard on the outside and very chewy inside. They're cool because they are just enjoyable and different than most others in town. They're not very large, but not too small either. You definitely will pay premium city prices here, but what they serve is really so much better than the typical options in this area. For me it's worth it, at least for a treat every now and then.I haven't even tried the coffee here yet, but the overall environment and service is so nice and cheerful. Actually, the service has almost always been super friendly and excellent at a level higher than most of the businesses in Seattle. This has been the case consistently over the last year or so, even as the staff has changed. Very appreciated to get that warm "sunny" service on rainy Seattle days. Bravo for that, as it is special. What thye can do to earn five stars: Too bad they don't open on Saturdays too, and I wish they had a few more bagel flavors like egg, pumpernickel, and blueberry. Cream cheese options are also kind of limited. However they do have most of the typical bagel and cream cheese flavors covered. It's nice they have a bakers dozen bagel option, but too bad it is still very pricey compared to other local benchmarks. It's also too bad they don't offer freezer bags with the bakers dozen. That is usually a commen tradition at great bagel bakeries.

To tell you the truth the main reason I visited was to try Pufftown pastries. They one of the vendors they sell items from. I follow Pufftown on Instagram and this was the only place that carried their items. I had this past Friday off and decided to go downtown early before meeting up with my sister to shop. If you don't work in the building it's probably not the easiest place to find but was definitely worth the visit. Luckily Pufftown gave great directions on an IG post. Entering the building from where the Corina signs are you go up two sets of escalators, go pass the elevators and it will be on the other. The baker called it a hidden gem, I'd agree. Aesthetically very pleasing. Tables and other sittings area great ton meet a friend or someone for a quick meeting. Staff was friendly and proficient. Think there were two when I arrived around 8am or so. I was going to have the Ginger Cardmom latte but they were out of the house-made syrup that morning. So I had a almond milk latte. Of course I had to get some bakes of the vendor I came for. I had a Chorizo Tomato Croissant there they asked if I wanted it heated which was nice it stayed flaky and was as good as it sounds. I also bought one of the blackberry cruffin to go for my sister. For being a day that hit high 70s the morning was a little chilly so I had my latte hot. Which hit the spot. Me table gave me a great view of people coming and going most of their customers seem to be regulars and getting their orders to go. There is a nice courtyard outside the window with lots of landscape which creates a nice space. Would definitely visit again on a day off if I'm in the area.

This review is solely based on the "Toasted Sandwich" option. The service was nice. This was very close to being the absolute worst sandwich I've ever had.The sandwich selection is basically a cold, premade sandwich like you might expect from an airport grab and go station. I don't really like cold sandwiches like that, so I saw they had an option for a "toasted sandwich". I ordered the "Turkey Sandwich - Oven Roasted Turkey, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Mayo On Whole Wheat" online for pickup ($12).When I arrived, they had the sandwich in the cooler waiting for me. I asked about it being toasted and they said have a toaster. It wasn't really clear to me how they were going to toast it since it was premade and asked if they were going to microwave it? They again indicated it would be "toasted".I saw them put it into what I think is the microwave/convection oven combo similar to what Starbucks uses.A minute later I had my hot sandwich.Upon unwrapping it, I noticed it wasn't toasted, but it was warm on the outside. Unfortunately, the cooking process boiled the lettuce into a hot slime and the tomato was also now a gross hot mush. The mayonnaise sort of melted. The bacon, never crispy to start with, was a sort of still cold rubbery texture and the turkey, which was plentiful, was warm on the outside and cold in the center.I REALLY CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS AT ALL! And at $12 before tax and tip, it's definitely not a good value.I haven't tried other items on the menu, and possibly the breakfast toasted sandwiches would survive the heating process better. As far as customer service goes, they sent me a "review your experience" email that I filled out, but so far have not heard back one way or the other.
