Yamato Hibachi & Sushi

Short version: Great food and excellent service!To start I ordered the Tuna Tartare, which is so good. The tuna and the avocado were super fresh, and the rice was perfect. This was a lot bigger than I expected and well worth the price.. You could share this with a friend or two. For my entree I had the New York strip steak Hibachi. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the veggies were all very fresh. It came with a large side of rice, which was OK. (I prefer it sticky)For dessert I had a banana-strawberry pie that was very tasty. I was worried it was going to be too sweet, but the filling tasted like a good soft serve ice cream, and the chocolate crust gave it just the right amount of sweetness. The restaurant was clean, but the tables could use some work, as the wood is scuffed and old. Tablecloths would be an easy fix. Also, the plastic table tent that had the desserts on it was pretty crusty. Almost turned me off to the dessert!Great service! The waitress was friendly and attentive. She found the right combination of checking on me without being intrusive. I've got guests coming to visit in the next few weeks and this is definitely on my list of places to take them for a good dinner.

Food is delicious and the staff is very polite.. It's my favorite place to get sushi! here in Bay City!!

Sushi was very good and fresh, pad Thai very generous size. Had it delivered and it was right on time as promised.

We decided to try this place out because we tired of Subway for lunch.Once we entered the restaurant we greeted by our hostess who did an excellent job with service.The interior was nice to see their setup.As for the food it was amazing the dishes we ordered were perect.I had ordered the fried superman which was deep with spicy crabmeat,shrimp,avocado,cream cheese,and eel sauce.I was blown away by the size of my order very massive. I highly recommend this recommend this restaurant if ever in Bay City.

Food was not good. The California rolls were a 2/5- they were warm and taste like they been sitting out for a while. The spring rolls were mushy. The veggies were okay. The fortune cookie was open and looked like it had black specks on it, possibly from bug poop. Very small town, so I didn't expect much from the food here. I wouldn't go here again..

Really Really Great little spot!! Gorgeous decor. Comfortable seating! Relaxing ambiance. Excellent service! And my favorite part....The food is all very good! Fresh and better than expected! From beginning to end, overall great experience. I will definitely be coming here again soon!

I cNt wait to dine in. 10 stars - hands down. Absolute great portion, presentation and flavor. Life customer has just been made!

Great food and service. Highly recommended this restaurant.Only 4 stars because the bathroom needed attention. It was dirty and smelled of urine.

Food was cooked to order and delicious . Seating was comfortable and I referred a friend and the couple went there and had fun also.

Try the crab wontons they are the bomb good service and the sushi is so good. My kids live there steak and chicken and the veggies are super good.
