Their 3.50% apy checking account is what attracted me to this bank and motivated me to open an account. Lizette explained all the requirements to earn the high interest rate; 20 debit card transactions, direct deposit at least once a month, accessing online banking, etc. I was also informed the large five figure opening deposit would be on hold for 7-10 days. All perfectly fine with me. When I received my debit card, I activated per instructions and went to make my first of 20 purchases. Imagine my embarrassment when the card was declined for a tiny purchase. Upon calling customer service they determined it was an expiration date glitch in their system and promptly rectified the issue. Also imagine my surprise when my statement cycled 20 days after opening the account giving me a couple of pennies in interest instead of the $60ish dollars it should have been. Every other account I have at other banks run a 1st through 30th of the month cycle. By the time the initial deposit hold was released and the debit card snafu corrected, there was no possible way for me to make the 20 transactions before the statement cycled. I did however make 30+ transactions before month end which should have earned me the higher rate of interest. I called Lizette to discuss this fully expecting she would see the situation and correct as a one time courtesy considering the circumstances and since she failed to tell me the statement would be cycling prior to my account being opened for a full month. Instead she refused to do right by her new client. When I opted to close my account as a result, I was told the bank didn't have enough cash on hand to close me out and was offered a cashiers check instead which they charge $5 for. I pushed back and insisted they at least waive the $5 fee for the cashiers check since they didn't have the cash to provide me with. I will be taking my business elsewhere where I'm treated like a valued client and suggest you do the same. Navy Army Community Credit Union offers the same interest rate with less requirements and better service.

horrible financial institution in my experience! i was charged fees that cost $100+ in less than 3 months! $8.95 charges several times with no explanation when i called! then, the unexpected charged caused my account to not have enough $$for a very important mortgage payment!!! so they bounced my check, charged me for it and now after good credit and perfect mortgage payment for 6 years, they ruined my credit all because of unknown bank charges!!! run from here if you can!

I only went in to cash a check on 3/14/19 just after 9:am and the two most visible clerks greeted me warmly and kindly and made me feel right at home! The teller was friendly, courteous and professional. I told her how nice and welcome she made me feel. I was in and out in a jiffy. This was the beginning of a great morning for me that started at my local Value Bank!Steve

This bank USED to have great customer service. I've had a small business account here for a few years but this last year has been a nightmare. Trouble cashing checks,the app rarely works, rude tellers (not all)and no one ever returns a call like they say they will. I'm opening a account elsewhere today as i do not feel like a valued customer.

Worst bank I've ever used! Late updating accounts so expect to be embarrassed when your card gets declined even though your deposit was there supposedly that morning but you have to wait until 9:10 so they get around to updating it. Slow service no service good luck getting a human on the phone. I'm not wasting one more second on this garbage bank.
