Burgers were good drinks were good but bartenders lack friendliness. For the two times I had to order at bar it seemed that I was bothering them for beer.

I stopped in here finally after seeing it a few times from the road. The place is next to a pretty little lake. The night I stopped in they had a live band playing. I ordered a veggie black bean burger and a beer from their extensive beer list which was very impressive! The burger came out and it was cold and generally disappointing. I waited patiently for about 15 minutes after I finished my drink and food while bartenders and servers milled about in front of me. Seemingly oblivious to someone sitting at the bar right in front of them with an empty plate and empty pint. I would expect someone to ask if I needed another drink or if I needed anything but they didnt. It was overall not a good impression. I dont plan on coming back but maybe I will to try another beer or two, hopefully the service will be a little better

It was good. It was super busy when we got but our server was great and fast. I started off with the pepino-tini because it was on happy hour special. It was a refreshing drink. Then I ordered the Teachers Pet with truffle fries. Burger and fries were good.

After several months of planning an event for the month of May in 2022 with a very nice manager, our professional association was excited to host it's 80+ guests at UHD. Then steps in UHD's second manager (I won't mention her name), just days before our big event. It was ALL downhill from there on. When our event committee showed to set up for our big day, she disclosed that she had double booked the area to include a graduation party. We had reserved and paid a deposit on the location at least 30 days in advance; so I'm not convinced it wasn't an accidental oversight. The manager was short on tables and the room set up was all wrong. Not to mention, she was more concerned about the 2nd party, because she wanted us to share the rented "common area". She also hiked up prices on us, and she approved (insisted) her staff charge us for food ordered by a "supposed" guest and her children who ate AWAY and OFF MENU from our hosted event. It was a profession business event, obviously not for children. The servers told us if we didn't pay the charges from the strangers that the manager would dock their pay for the expense. Who charges for food orders outside an event? The reason given: "they thought they had seen 'this lady sitting at our event earlier on'". Seriously?! Not to mention, we had business owners and big name national brand sponsors from across the country, who were totally turned off by the place. The service was subpar. For example, the food was served extremely late! To make things worse on our $4000 bill, the staff closed our private bar down early. As the rushed us off, they offered to-go boxes for the massive amounts of food that should have fed to our 80 guests during the event. Not only were our guests left hungry, they didn't get to enjoy their pre-paid drinks! We tried to reason with the manager, she was dismissive, rude, and completely unapologetic. She sent over another manager to evade the complaints. He did his job and helped her clear us out. I've spoken to other business colleagues in town and many say they always avoid this particular female manager, because she has "absolutely no business sense or tact". So, they won do much at UHD, either. We couldn't agree with them more. I was personally mortified by the lack of professionalism on her behalf, and that UHD's reputation meant nothing to her. Rather than take responsibility for her behavior/choices, she blamed the owners for the sudden price hikes; and, it's not like we could have changed venues on such short notice. My husband and I always try to support local businesses, as a company and as consumers; so, we brought our non-profit organization to stimulate business when "inflation was about to hit". I mean let's help local owned businesses survive, right? Huge mistake! We were beyond embarrassed, showing all our out of town guests that UDH was a poor choice of venue. We apologized profusely for UHD, because management wasn't going to do it. Management sent in a replacement because she didn't care to hear from our board members or guests. Therefore, our National brand sponsors will not be hosting any future events at UHD, either. We've all agreed there are businesses who appreciate their patrons, and that's allwe asked for. We've hosted numerous events throughout the RGV, and this by far has to be one of our worst experiences. If there was a zero star rating option on reviews, this would be the place for it! As a business owner, I know that reputation means a lot. So, I took long to post this because it's unfair if business owners don't know that their staff is hurting their business. I'm hoping the actual owners get this message; perhaps they are unaware of how their business is being run - by those they have earnestly entrusted with their reputation.

Dropped in for a drink. Place was relatively busy. Walked in and no host to greet us. Walked further in and this strange smell hits you. It smells like an old wet rag. It was hard to shake off. Took quite some time to even get the bartender's attention even though they were making drinks in front of us. This place has so much potential. Love the vibe, but service needs some work. I'd give it one more chance.

Dirty! From the moment we walked in for my son's birthday dinner, no host was present; three other families in front of us. No acknowledgement from anyone as we waited for 15 minutes. Took it upon ourselves to ask for help. We were told that table was being set up by the host. We requested to talk to supervisor and we were told that supervisor was busy. Finally, after waiting for 25 minutes, we were seated after hostess made condescending remarks, "I understand, please follow me."Due to this being my son's birthday and him wanting to eat there, I bit my tongue and we stayed. our waitress made it better. she was great. overall experience was awful. very disappointed.Burgers were average.

We were visiting from Katy, TX. Our server was Romeo and he was excellent. Great recommendations and very attentive. The food is freshly made and is awesome. So awesome, I forgot to take pictures. We are very hungry after a morning of fishing in the adjacent pond, and their live music was drawing us in. We had the Undergrad Burger that Romeo recommended and it was fantastic. Who would have thought peanut butter and jalapeño jelly would taste good on a hamburger!? We also had the Pork belly and potatoes, very tasty. Kids sliders, kids chicken tenders; both also very good. Burger 101, very juicy. Waffles served with fruit....delicious. We have family nearby and can't wait to come back when we visit again!Romeo said they have live music every day! They have tons of tv's and had all kinds of sports playing. We had a fun and delicious experience. Thank you again to Romeo!
