Town House Restaurant

The staff immediately seated me and took my drink order. The waitress was pleasant and even though I was there after 1 pm, she took my breakfast order without hesitation. The food was fresh and delicious! The waitress checked on me a few times and made sure I was taken care of!

Standard small town Cafe. Food is good. Chicken fried steak is good. Better choice of steak would have helped. Mash potatoes are interesting. Thought it was grits at first. The Gusada is good. The service was excellent. 2.5

SO GOOD.I have a place on my favorites list.We had breakfast and chowed. The wait staff was above and beyond.I can't wait to try the supper menu.

First time trying the chicken alfredo pasta, and I was not disappointed on bit. I always get steak but the chicken pasta hit the spot!

Glad I didn't read the Yelp reviews before we went! On Google it looked all right and it's definitely a local spot. Never been in this town (or part of Texas) before so I thought I'd stop by with my godson. We both had the Tex Mex sampler platter (I forget the name on the menu). He ate up and he's kind of picky so, two thumbs up for him! Our server Claudia was friendly and our sweet tea and food came out quickly. It was fresh, tasty, and satisfying. The "guisidi" (i hope I'm remembering it right) carne stew, to me, was the star of the platter. If I return (I'm from out of state) I'll just order that - it was really really good! Everything else on my platter was good too, but the carne stew was the standout. If I'm in Uvalde again I will come back.

Excellent liver and onions last night (Tuesday's special), but my mashed potatoes and green beans were cold. Always love the Chalupas on Mondays. We sorta quit coming to the turkey dinner on Sundays cuz the chef does not make good dressing. It is just soggy cornbread with very little celery, onions or sage in it. I have any points, but have not received and bonus offers. Your Rewards program definitely needs some tweaking.

We have frequented Town House for a long time. Yesterday we had a really terrible experience and although I have forgiven odd occurrences in the past, this is beyond the pale. Perhaps staff was fighting? We ordered even though they said they were understaffed by two people because we like this restaurant and were willing to put up with slowness. We ordered a hamburger and a Nora's quesadilla because we thought it would be pretty simple and fast to make. People who came in much later got more complicated food in decent time. All were obviously friends of the waitress as she hugged a few of them. An hour later, when I was thinking about giving up and leaving, the waitress came out with a quesadilla. She walked around talking to three tables of her friends while slinging around what ended up being my plate. Who does that? She finally brought it after everyone in the room had a chance to look at it and breathe on it. It was not hot. My husband's burger came at least 15 minutes later without the sweet potato fries. She blamed everything on the general manager, the cook, and her prosthetic foot. TMI. I'm pretty sure none of those things made her take 10 minutes of visiting between the kitchen and our table! This is unacceptable and just plain weird. In days gone by, there would have been a discount on such terrible slowness and horrible bizarre service. There wasn't even a thank you/we're sorry. Just excuses, passing blame, and trash talking. I realize we were one of the few white couples there but in the past that really has never made a difference in this place which usually has nice Christian music playing and sweet servers and great food. I think we are officially done with this restaurant for good!

Best chicken fried steak! If you're in the mood for Mexican food but can't make up your mind, try the Derby platter! It's delicious. Townhouse also has the best salsa ever!The service is quick and friendly and the atmosphere is nice too.
