We came to the island for an event and needed a quick meal. We drove to the spot, found parking across the street, super easy. Their parking lot is full but there is a garage in the back and plenty of street parking for free. We decided to sit on the ocean side. Got menus and went to the counter to order. We selected the sampler platter. Found seating upstairs facing the water. Such beautiful views. The food arrived and everything was good except the fried pickles were way too salty. We enjoyed the mozzarella cheese sticks and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Cute place with a huge selection and good pricing.

We came to The Spot because everyone in Galveston says it's the best place. Let's get into it. Ambiance: The set up of the restaurant is very overcrowded with the tables and chairs being almost intertwined to the point where you have to walk sideways to move through the restaurant. There are birds and flies... in groups... everywhere... on the ground, on the chairs, on the tables, and yes... trying to get your food at all times. It was unsettling, uncomfortable, and felt very unsanitary. Service: the service was okay. Nothing great, nothing bad. I don't have much to say about it. Food: so they brought me the wrong burger the first time (the sweet and spicy burger) which looked very good but it is not what I ordered. I forgot to take a picture of my correct burger but I got the King burger. I really hate to say this but it was awful. The meat was not seasoned with so much as salt or pepper. It was so greasy on the bottom that the bottom bun was disintegrating as I picked it up.. the fries were decent. We also had fried pickles in the beginning that were solid. Drinks: my partner ordered a frozen mango margarita that came as liquidy as juice. I ordered a spicy margarita that had a chemical taste. I would not come back, however, keep in mind I might be the unpopular opinion.

There is a missed opportunity here for the restaurant's management team. I decided to try this place after hearing that it was a fun place to eat pre-cruise. The location is perfect, and there is an ample amount of parking. The decor and aesthetics of the place are on point. The food was amazing! It was hot and cooked perfectly. However, the staff missed the mark on this day. It seemed like they could care less if we were there or not. They did not seem happy to be there at all. It was so odd that I asked one of the workers if they were the weekday staff? He said the weekend is a bit more lively ( I dined on Wednesday). I think this place would have a higher rating if the vibe and attitude of the crew were better. This place has so much potential. It's the food that's making me give this place one more chance. I hear good stuff. Hopefully, my next visit is a bit more pleasant.

Different set up. You order at the station then they bring your food to you. We had a party of 28, very organized. Sat upstairs. Another beautiful view! We ordered the sampler which was amazing. The fish was so moist, the coconut shrimp was our favorite but the bacon wrapped as nice as well. Thin onion rings plus waffle fries for sides. All 3 sauces were nice. Way too much to share, we took a togo box back to the hotel.

Loved visiting the Spot in Galveston! It had been years since I have eaten here, but the quality and service were just as good as I remember. I had the fish and chips, which were classically good. It was my first time sitting on the top balcony, but the weather was perfect and the view of the water and Pleasure Pier were great.

Went here on a nice Sunday in Galveston. I was in a grilled shrimp mood and they were delicious. I like that they came on top of a bed of rice to add an extra side. The grilled vegetables were a little disappointing, think they could pick better stuff. But overall the spot is a great place to sit, eat, drink and have an amazing view.

This is an interesting establishment, five venues at one location. We went last Sunday to watch the Texans. The atmosphere was great, it was a beautiful day on the beach. Football fans were everywhere. Great happy hour selections! Since we were waiting on a couple of our friends to arrive, we decided to order an appetizer big enough for a party of four. The appetizer came out room temperature. We decided not to order from the main menu for that reason. The restroom in the bar area on the second floor needs attention. One working sink and 3/4 stalls function. You can park in a lot for $10 on the weekend if the parking lot is at capacity (it's small ) or in the parking garage across the street. Unsure how much the parking garage is, but it's $15 if you're staying at the Holiday Inn Express next door.

I'm going to update my review from 2015; The Spot has really included some vegetarian options to the menu. The service has improved and the staff is more attentive. They place the food on the table and are asking, "did I get it right?" or "was it anything else that you needed?" The ambiance is about the same and it was quite crowded, but I was able to hold and hear the conversation that I was having. The Tropical black bean burger was vegan when I took off the cheese and it was still pleasantly tasty. The mango salsa really put the spices in the taste of the black beans. I'm happy that they didn't put corn into the binding of the burger. The bread was soft and paired well with the beans. Oh my, the waffle fries were way better than Chick-a-fil (didn't spell it wrong, but y'all remember when that used to be the spelling, right?!)Well seasoned fries and fried hard to the point that they were crispy. The parking was free and easy to find

The Spot is a great location on the beach in Galveston. It is a huge restaurant that is half dining and half bar, and you can tell it is really lively during sporting events and peak times. Walking in there are wait markers, and it reminded me of the lines at Disneyland (though there was no wait when we went).Seating is both indoor and outdoor with a view of the gulf, and you order at the counter and have the food delivered to your table. Overall the food was ok, if not great, and prices were reasonable, but then again I base everything off NYC and Phoenix so my baseline might be off a bit.We basically ordered a little of everything and the fried gulf shrimp and coconut shrimp were the winners. The chicken tenders and breaded fish were not too great. I also recommend the onion rings and bacon-wrapped shrimp (shrimp kisses). Service and ambiance were both very good and this is a good spot to check out for seafood in a fun and relaxed environment.
