BLACK MOLD - do not rent 407 W Farley Port Aransas, TX 78373.Black mold and toxic odor in the downstairs apartment. The pool was also dirty with bugs. I called the company and they were suppose to send a maintenance person out, but no one showed up. Terrible experience with the mold and odor.

I wish I had read more reviews before I rented. My husband and I are currently renting a house from this company. We are pretty disappointed in this rental. The house is large and well appointed and comfortable inside. We have encountered several problems. The shower in the master suite does not work. no water. After hours, the emergency number is only responsive if the AC is out or water is completely out. The electronic lock on the door stopped working and we were unable to lock the house when we left. The houses are approximately 30 feet apart. This is not obvious from the photos on line. You can see directly into the neighbors house from any window. There are signs around the property about a quiet zone after 10:00 pm but last night the house across from us had screaming teens in their pool until after 1:00 am. Next door, a large group of people played loud music and talked loud enough that we could hear them on the other end of the house until 2:30 am. There is no way to enforce the noise problem. Unless you plan to stay up and party all night, avoid this complex. it's not much fun the next day when you have only a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. getting a 2 year old back to sleep at 12:30 am is not much fun when there is a very loud party going on next door. We rent vacation properties several times a year so we have a lot to compare with this rental. It is very expensive for a property that offers less privacy than a condo or hotel. You can do better.

Due to COVID-19 the Property Management would not reschedule or refund our vacation rental in 2021. We had called weekly for months requesting for a manager to call back and never received any response. Basically I was told that a previous employee had stole money from them that caused them to almost go bankrupt. Not sure how this has anything to do with our situation, but I am out $4K and they said that they would not reschedule our family vacation. The manager I spoke with was very unreasonable and would not help to resolve.

We love Port A Beachhouse Company!! They are so accommodating and helpful. They have a good selection of properties and most have pools or pool access. We just left Port A after a relaxing week at the beach and we had a blast! Thank you for the wonderful accommodations.

AVOID renting from this company at all costs!!! I booked a vacation rental for our group of 10 for 7/11-7/14 directly on their website. They took the entire rental fee out of my bank account. I signed the rental agreement, received the check-in code and was texting with them about renting a 6-seater golf cart. For some odd reason, on the evening of 7/9 I checked my email and saw a confirmation of cancellation of my reservation that I did not request. I called the after hours phone # and they said my reservation still showed active. I wanted reassurance, so I emailed the company and received a reply from Hailey Hattenbach, the Office Manager stating "Hi, I'm so sorry we had a system error and had a double booking. We will refund your full amount." How is it possible that the company that manages the website has an error and double booking? I was furious! I tried calling and emailing several times to no avail. I even reached out to Kendall Thomas, the Property Manager and a Keller Williams Realtor and she would not answer my calls or return my calls or respond to my emails. They have said they refunded the money, but it may take 5-7 days to show back up in my bank account. They left our family high and dry with no place to stay and could care less. Horrible company! And even worse people and customer service! Stay FAR, FAR away from them!! .

Below is a copy of one of my emails sent to management. They have sent two identical replies with the same response offering me a one-time $250 credit and a "Free Nights Stay" on a future visit. Obviously, we won't be staying with them again. See below for more details.Thank you for your reply. I am very disappointed with your response. My expectation for our stay in PortA was not for service that went above and beyond. I merely expected your management team to provide what was promised in the listing and through our correspondence. Below is a list of how the bare minimum was not met:-Promised unobstructed views of the beach/ocean from all balconies through the listing verbiage and through the pictures (both were inaccurate). From all balconies, except for the unfurnished 4x5 foot rooftop, we are looking at the back of a construction sight (it appears the new home is close to complete, which means this construction is not a surprise). As I stated previously, I rented this home and was comfortable with the rent based on what I valued and was promised in the listing. Obviously you have no control over new construction, but your listing and price should be updated to give your guests accurate information. Given the location of the home, lack of views, and comparable home rental prices, I would have been comfortable paying 80% of what what we paid for the nightly cost. Had the listing been accurate, I would not have rented this home to begin with. (In regards to the listing, I would be sure to clarify with "minimal ocean views" instead of "unobstructed ocean views from all levels." I would also update the aerial pictures or remove them. They are very misleading.) -Beds were not made.-The home was not thoroughly cleaned; dirty linen items in master bath, trash on the balcony table-Roaches in the bunk room-Fleas on the master bed comforter-Broken coffee maker carafe -Replacement coffee maker was not brought until I had to call and ask 2 more times.-Wrong coffee maker was brought (mini-coffee maker - 5 cups)-Phone calls and emails on 6/23, 6/24, and 6/27 were not returned.I did give the management team ample opportunity to try to rectify the situation, not only did they not do this, but they were very difficult to communicate with. Multiple phone calls and emails were without response. This appears to be a theme through other guest reviews.

As you can see from the reviews here port a beach house only replies to good reviews. This is also the way they respond to any problems you have during your stay, they don't. With my families booking port a house added fees to the posted total booking price in excess of $300, of course we cancelled. They then tried to access a fee to cancel. Thankfully we used a third party booking site that has a free cancellation policy and they got the fee rescind. Bottom line here is to avoid PORT A BEACH HOUSE managed properties for your vacation and if you are looking for a property management group for your property don't use porta beac.

We stayed in a PABHC managed property for the last 10 days and had abysmal service the entire time. It took days to get a GFI circuit reset and calls requesting additional towels and sheets were never returned and the towels were never delivered. Kendall seemed to get annoyed when I would call. If you are a property owner looking for a company to manage your home and attend to your guests and clients, this is definitely not the company I would hire.

Wish I could give 0 stars. We booked a vacation with extended family months in advance and had already paid. They called recently and said they forgot to update the price. They cancelled our reservation and we we had to find and another place to stay, paying a thousand dollars more. Do not recommend.
