The New Rodeo

I appreciated the cool temperature in the restaurant. Coffee was excellent flavor. Taco was ok. I ordered bacon egg and potato. Bacon was so small, it was not easy to taste it. I will try something else next time.

Food was good--better than most in Victoria. I know--I'm from the RGV. Loved the charro beans! Fajita tacos and rice were both good, better than most places in Victoria--and I've been to at least ten 'highly recommended' Mexican restaurants and this one has been the best so far. My friend had the grilled chicken and it looked and smelled delicious!!

Absolutely judge this place by its cover because it doesn't get any better on the inside. This would be a health inspectors "Rodeo"! I will say the customer service was excellent and friendly hence the 2nd star. The women's bathroom was horrendous. There was a bug on the bottom of my plant, which means there's bugs in the kitchen. We also watched a server reusing salsa and tortilla containers, meaning zero sanitation. The food was ok, and the only place open on Easter Sunday. You've been warned!

Great food and even better prices. We came for lunch on a Saturday. Wasn't too packed service was quick and friendly. Loud Mexican music playing, which wasn't too bad.I had the Texas plate: carne guisada, two beef enchiladas, beans (I passed on the rice), guacamole, and two flour tortillas. Food was great, minus the guacamole... it lacked salt, lime, and texture. It just didn't taste like fresh guac. I tried to spruce it up with salt & lime, but it just wasn't working. The beef enchiladas were the best thing on the plate. Carne guisada was super tender. I was too stuffed to eat the tortillas. All that for under $10 bucks.My friend had the beef quesadilla plate with rice, beans, and salad. She said everything was fabulous.Started with chips, queso, and red salsa. The salsa was some of the best I've had. Queso was cold so I didn't each much of that. The thought of including it for free was great, but the temp was disappointing. Overall, I'll definitely eat here when I'm in Victoria again.

Don't judge this place by the exterior-they are making repairs. Food, service and prices are excellent! So happy we sstopped our way back to Austin!

Sunday breakfast. Served until 11am, costs $1 more if you get it after. First location I have found in Victoria that's 1. Actually open on Sunday and 2. Serves breakfast past 11am. Breakfast tacos were good, tortillas were big and full of food. Will definitely go again.

I drove from Katy to Victoria with my mother and siblings to accompany them as they toured properties, and we decided to stop for lunch (my stepfather, who works in Victoria, recommended the breakfast tacos from this joint). The service was friendly and professional, but the food is rather overpriced for the quality and taste, not to mention that the wait time was longer than expected. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicanas (I usually avoid Tex-Mex food, and this item appeared to be authentically Mexican) and it was a truly DISAPPOINTING experience for me. The enchilada sauce was watery, cold, tasteless, and not spicy at all. The Carne Asada was not very appealing and nasty. The Tacos de Huevo con Chorizo TASTED decent, but my younger siblings started throwing up a couple of hours later. I will NEVER come back here again. Period.

Service is "iffy", and either the TV or music is very loud. But the food is always great! Price is extremely reasonable, and authentically Tex Mex.

A little disappointing. I ordered a Gordita and taco plate thinking the Gordita was a homemade tortilla. NOT! It was made up of two corn tortillas fried crispy with the filling in between. The meat had no flavor whatsoever. Hubby ordered BBQ plate which was meh. They ran out of homemade tortillas , so the tortillas they did serve was like eating cardboard. I will say that their menudo was outstanding. Service was slow if nonexistent for any refills. If I come back it will only be for their menudo.
