If you are in Port Lavaca at lunch time the Green Iguana Grill is a must eat place. The owner works the counter every day and is super friendly and knows everyone's name. The food is delicious and homemade.

The Green Iguana is local institution in Port Lavaca. It is a casual diner decorated with fun antique novelties. I ordered the patty melt with chips. The bread was perfectly toasted and the meat, cheese, and onions were well seasoned. My friend always gets the chicken fried steak and he loves it. Our food came out fast. The Green Iguana is the kind of small town restaurant where everybody knows everybody. I highly recommend coming here if you are in town! I know I will be back.

Today my daughter and I ate at the Green Ignana. By far I had the best Ruben Sandwich ever and my daughter loved her grilled chicken salad. Atmosphere cant be beat! Service as great as the Menu! Fantastic! Nathan and Aycia Lapham

Of the limited dining options in Port Lavaca, The Green Iguana stands out as a local favorite and overall just an enjoyable place to grab a bite to eat. Their daily lunch specials and soups are always great. My favorites here are their sandwiches: their simple yet delicious BLT, the always classic club sandwich, or their amazing "Iguana Croissant" never disappoint, to name just a few. This place will always be one of my go-to lunch spots in PL. From its unique interior and dining experience to its tasty food, The Green Iguana remains a quirky and fun staple of Port Lavaca.

Located in the historic 'downtown", Green Iguana is one of the few better dining places in the small town of Port Lavaca, but compared to other restaurants, it is nothing spectacular. The decors in Green Iguana is pretty cool! The whole interior is filled with old school decorations and antiques such as an old Coke machine that sold $0.25 per pop (Those must be the good ole days). Sadly, the food is nothing out of ordinary. I ordered shrimp po-boy for the last two visits and although they are pretty cheap ($8 including fries), the po-boy was just something I need to eat to hang out with people in the restaurant.Overall, the relaxed atmosphere and the nice decors make Green Iguana a great place for local residents to hang out with their friends. Other than that, it's nothing that you should go out of your way to dine.

Located in the older part of town, this place is hard to miss if you're cruising by. The bright green and purple exterior stands out against the old buildings. The interior is decorated with old Rock n Roll albums and nineteen fifties pictures. They even have a old phone booth and a cage with an iguana, a fake one though.I normally get the chicken fingers or the steak fingers. Basically anything is pretty solid.

Had the chicken salad on a croissant. It includes a tomato and lettuce. Not the best pairing by far. Please leave it off and please don't put the poor thing on the grill! It just makes it greasy. Toasting it prior to filling would be preferable.Add some sliced or copped apple and some celery instead of the chips. A chicken salad croissant should be a delicate and fresh experience.Service was friendly and fast.

This is the place I go to when I am in Port Lavaca it is a must eat. Their patty melts are so good and their fries are so crunchy. They also have really good salads. I hope this place never closes. The only downfall is that is not open on the weekends
