The Davenport

After my last 4 visits, I'm sorry to say I see a steady decline due to lack of consistency and lack of caring. The drinks are good, but with unfriendly bartenders who ignore you, the food, or what there is of it now, is dismal, and service can be hit or miss much too often. I don't go that frequently, probably every 4 - 6 weeks, but I believe this was my last time for a while. If you are not a regular, I would suggest reading the most current reviews before planning your evenings or brunch there.

Strong drinks. Great atmosphere! The bartender was so nice and fun! They had plenty of seating outside.

My first time at Davenport. Didn't know what to expect. There was a "seasonal" menu that piqued my interest with the pop culture references. My boss warned me to only have one drink, since they were strong. They were perfect! Not too strong, not too weak, just right as you slowly sipped the "sofia" and enjoyed the quiet lounge. To not get tipsy, I ordered a charcuterie board from their happy hour menu. Wow!!! Pickled veggies, smoked meats and the freshest cheeses. I even ate the stuff I normally don't touch.Feeling id stay longer, I next ordered the "blanche". Rose petals topped a refreshing drink as I enjoyed the outside patio.Best part was when I cashed out. It was less than $30 with tip which was unexpected with the quality of product.

A great place for some very creative drinks. A huge selection of their own drinks as well as the classics. Drinks with names like Barbies Bath water or the Prenup. Everything our group ordered was excellent. Friendly helpful staff with good recommendations for an almost overwhelming large drink menu.

my friend and i went out for brunch and he was craving a good juicy, burger. so, he recommended the davenport.the inside of the place is semi-small, but there's plenty of space outside. it was about 1:40 PM (lunch time) and the place got busy. it took a bit, but the bartender got to us as fast as possible and she was super nice. i had a hard time deciding, but she helped me out. we ordered the summer breeze and the sage against the machine. the summer breeze has a refreshing grapefruit taste, and the sage against the machine has a refreshing cucumber taste.i usually don't like meat patties on burgers, but my friend was raving about how juicy and tender it is, so i decided to try it. so we both ordered the don quixote burger with a side of pappas bravas. the food took a while to come, about 30 minutes. we then ordered barbie's bath water and lavender pearl martini. barbie's bath water is sweet and the lavender pearl was very strong and lavendery.the fries were amazing, and the burger was great as well, but super messy because of the egg which is understandable. the patty was thick and meaty which i don't usually like, but it went well with the sauce, veggies, and everything else. it was a lot of food and i ended up being super tipsy and super full.overall, the drinks were all great. the food is great as well, but it will take a long time to get ready if you're going on break or starving. i will be coming back and i do recommend this place!

Davenport knows what they are doing! They have great bartenders who know how to make delicious (and very adult- aka strong) drinks! If you want a fun and lively spot that does a lot for the San Marcos community then look no further!They also make great food with smokin' happy hour deals! My favorite is their Monday nights for the $15 steak and 2 sides with $5 scotch and wine. You won't be disappointed!

Had the Steak and Eggs with zero complaints. Potatoes were also on point and the sauce was delicious. Bloody Mary was just right. Great choice in San Marcos.

Stumbled on this little gem while searching for a delicious cocktail. We had been to the one in Houston 10 years ago and was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was the same owners! Great atmosphere and the best bartenders!

Comfortable atmosphere with nice bartenders and friendly patrons. I'd go here again.
