The Cracked Crab

Finally went to the The Cracked Crab and it was fantastic! Thursday was bogo appetizers. The pickles themselves were homade, not out of a jar, hand battered and fried to perfection. The second was fried shrimp and calamari and both were fresh not frozen deliciousness. I had the oyster poboy and it was the best I've had outside Nola! The got the bread right, no one does that!

Such kind friendly folks... the employees and patrons. Worth getting off the beaten path to enjoy some crab and fixins'. Highly recommend this cute family business for good ole southern hospitality.

Wife and I visited this establishment just last night 5:26-24 as usual we're very pleased had everything that we had ordered absolutely great place to be if you love Seafood

This was the best catfish I've had. The food was delicious. The dirty rice was very good. Stephanie was on her toes taking g orders, delivering meals and cashing out customers. Great server. The feel of the restaurant was like an outside dock. I absolutely loved the fresh flowers on the tables. 5 STARS!!!

The food here was absolutely fantastic. The cost is a bit high, but the food was definitely worth it. The service was fair, and the setting was active. I will definitely be going back. The fried oysters were probably the best I've eaten.

What a hidden gem! We were down in the area from the Midwest and wanted some seafood. Followed the reviews on here and y'all didn't fib! The food was amazing! Boudin balls, gulf bisque, grilled shrimp, fried shrimp, crab legs...some of the best seafood we've had. Loved the Cajun spin on it as well. The service was great and the owner was delightful to talk with. Restaurant was very clean with a rustic flair and fun atmosphere. Optional outdoor seating was plentiful and comfy. Oh, and love that they use disposable plates, utensils and cups. Easier for the kitchen and wait staff to clean up, and it goes well with the picnic atmosphere. Please stop in an eat here. I promise you won't be disappointed!

We really did not enjoy the food at all. Was a waste of the drive and moneyThe location is nice, outdoor area A bit smelly with stagnant water in ponds, but outdoor games for the kids was nice Service was very good, all were helpful We would not return, fried pickles were frozen kind and the grease was not hot enough so they were soggyCornbread and banana nut bread was nice, there was a dish was shrimp, potato, corn, served over dirty rice and covered in Cajun sauceThe sauce was the only tasty thing about that dish We didn't finish it or take it home Disappointed

I've eaten there twice in the last 4 days( it's close to Goliad State Park). The food is amazing, the atmosphere is casual and friendly. The prices are very reasonable for top of the line seafood. The servers are super friendly and attentive.

We arrived on a Sunday night around 6am, the restaurant was half filled. We ordered two draft beers, a bowl of gumbo, fish and chips and blackened fish (total $58).When our beers arrived at the table they looked odd (these were blond beers, the color was super yellow and my husband glass had two different shades of yellow). We returned the beers, and asked for 2 bottles (this was swapped out with no problems). The. Somebody came to our table to tell us that they were out of Gumbo. Later somebody brought us a cup of gumbo (what). The food took about an hour to arrive and several people were also waiting for a long time and with incomplete orders. In the end it appeared chaotic, it took a long time for the food and it was expensive for the food received.The food tasted good and large portions.
