The Corner Cafe & Saloon

I have looked forward to going back to this restaurant, for quite a while. From time to time, when driving between Houston and Corpus Christi, we wander around in the hinterland, rather than going through the 59/77 grinder. It may take longer, but it's calmer and we find places like The Corner.It has odd hours, and we've missed their hours a couple of times, so I came online to find out if tomorrow would be good. Closed on Tuesdays. Bummer.Bigger bummer: Yelp "recommends" a lousy review and hides a decent one. I don't remember what I ate, last time I was there. I just remember enjoying the ambiance, and being quite satisfied with the food. Everybody has a bad day. Some people don't deserve to be treated the way they expect. Or, demand. I can't, therefore, comment on someone else's experience. I didn't have kids with me, and that might have made a difference! All I can say is, I'm looking forward to going back.

The very best Ribeye ever. I have eaten steaks around the world and Friday night was the best by far. They are flame grilled out in the pit area and smell is so good you could eat 2. I was too full though. FUN PLACE TO GO WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. YOU REALLY SHOULD GIVE IT A TRY.

Went there for dinner tonight, it was under staffed, we ordered 2 ribeyes, salad, onion rings as the appetize, grilled onions and jalapeño. The ribeyes arrived first, no onion rings, we kept reminding the waiter and were told he would bring them right out, never happened, then we had to remind him numerous times about the salads, they finally came out towards the end of the meal, never got the onions. The salads were a small amount of lettuce thrown onto a styrofoam plate, mind you the entire meal was served on paper plates with plastic silverware. Then my wife split her meal with her sister and they charged seven dollars for another paper plate as a split meal charge .All together it was 90.00 for the worst service and overpriced food I have ever experience. If I could give it a zero I would, one is being generous.

These people just acted like a fistful of assholes to me and my family. The food is not worth being treated like crap. If you have a family with children, do not come here, you could very well be treated the way my family was just treated.
