The Bead Studio

Nice shop, but has been updated with different inventory since some of these photos. Nice place for findings, spacers, metal enhancers.But bead strands are very pricy. Nice quality, but if you're looking for strands under $10, crystals, wooden beads, this is not the place. Looks like they may at one time have sold them, but no longer.

I love The Bead Studio. Every time I visit Corpus, I make sure to stop by here and shop for some new beads and findings. I've also attended a sea glass wrapping class with Sherre, and it was so much fun. They also host gemstone trunks shows, and you don't want to miss them.

This place is DANGEROUS!...In a good way;) My grandmother and I went in twice in the last two days. Everyone there was friendly, helpful, and fun. I'm new to the jewelry world, but I became more inspired so THANK YOU LADIES!

Let me tell you,... Totally full service bead salon! I walked in from the heavy fog at 12 noon. I left 4 hours later!! I met Denise and told her that I came because I need a solution. I brought one necklace of plain stones of Peruvian opal, and another of Lapis Lazur round beads. She explained what she offered and that I could actually sit at the craft table and reconstruct the two necklaces "on the spot." So I did. She brought me fresh made coffee, and so I was about to get creative! What a fabulous Friday!! Other ladies began entering the shop, the first was the owner, Michelle. She actually sat down and helped me with the toggle clasp and finishing touches. All the ladies, about 5 by then, gave encouraging compliments on my finished piece. One lady bought her little puppy, Latte. He spent some time crafting with us and listening to easy rock music on Pandora. I completed my new necklace and was so happy that I decided to stay and reconstruct the Lapis necklace. Beautiful!! I thoroughly enjoyed the warm atmosphere with creative vibes, and the hospitality, the large supply of beads, and an fresh opportunity to creative jewelry with immediate feedback. Creating necklaces is not difficult. You simply need the tools, products and training. All of this was offered. It was an incredible experience and creative adventure!! I certainly plan to return to create earrings for each necklace. I have something to show you,... my creations.

Kathleen is the owner and she is wonderful. I love shopping at the bead studio and taking classes here. If Kathleen doesn't have what I need, she will order it. Her prices are very reasonable, especially the seed beads. They are packaged in larger tubes so I get more for the price. The bead studio has lots of room to move around and shop or take a class. I've never felt crowded and cramped while shopping here, as some bead stores are. Kathleen carries a large variety of seed beads, other beads, findings, beading string and wire, informational books and other good stuff. There is also a "sit and relax" area for the spouse to wait while you shop. My husband loves that area. I recommend this Bead Studio highly to every beader.

What a fascinating store! I am looking forward to coming back for a class or a trunk show in the near future. And what an equally wonderful owner, Kathleen. She is so patient and so welcoming. She helped me out with a last minute problem that I had and I am forever indebted to her. Thank you.

For all you beaders and artistic talents out there...you have to visit The Bead Studio in Rockport. It is the Newest and Best! Kathleen Hahn Ober is the owner and greeter at the studio and is right there to help you with all your needs. There are a variety of instructors to teach you any number of creations you want to learn. You can BYOBeads or BYOB and visit or bead in a large area with many tables and there is always something going on. Be sure to come by to see for yourself and if the weather isn't nice for you vacationers on the beach it is a great place to hang out.
