The Barn

Every time I'm in town, the barn takes care of me. They even take care of me when I'm not in town by letting me pick up the tabs of my friends when I'm 1,100 miles away!Good people. Good food. Good times!

Love this place, always great service and food. Staff and owners always friendly! The atmosphere is awesome also! Could not ask for a better neighborhood bar!

We love to wander back country roads, as much as possible, whenever we go anywhere. Out-of-the-way eateries is one of the attractions of our predilection. I'm planning a trip from Matamoros, Mexico to Swan River, Canada and back. Up on Highway 83; Down, about 40-200 miles east of it on 281, is the basic concept. However, we might not touch either highway for more than 10% of the trip. By comparison, finding this place while wandering away from the beaten path while still close to home could have been special. Rather than a one-shot experience, like on a long trip, this is close enough we could show up several times a year, like we do in Weesatche. There are other out-of-the-way places we go out of the way to revisit. This one, not so much.It's funny. Maybe it got a benefit from feeding us some really lousy food, the first time. I went back, to give them another chance. Had they fed us the second meal, the first time, we never would have gone back! It was so blah, I probably wouldn't have bothered to work up a review.But, because of that lousy meal, since I decided to write about it, they could wind up selling me a third meal. Having read about the sourdough buns, if really hungry and in the area, there's a long shot chance I might go by a third time. I will definitely call ahead and find out how old the frying oil is, first. Lesson learned. The fries the first time were dreadful, and the second time, not much better. So, I'd probably only try the burger, based on other reviews.Only, I tend not to order burgers in bars.

Decided to visit based on other reviews, was disappointed. The chicken breast sandwich had a small portion probably 4oz. Our order took 45 minutes to come out and they were not busy. The bartender was not apologetic in the least for how long a simple two sandwich order with fries took.

This is quickly becoming a favorite for my frac crew as we travel in between Victoria and Yorktown (especially since options in Yorktown are dreadful). Hands-down best option here is the hamburger with sourdough bun. Coupled with fries and drink it weighs in at $8. Not really a big fan of the fries, but the hamburger is spectacular for what they are asking. This is a bar as well, but as I usually stop here while working can't say much about selection and what's on tap. Atmosphere-wise it's a typical dive bar with pool tables and does allow smoking indoors. Live bands Friday and Saturday night with heavy country music playlists. Not really my thing, but they are professional sounding musicians.Ample parking for those in oil-field equipment. Cute waitresses that will put up with us too. And don't mind you sleeping there if you to decide to toss some back... Or just need to reset some hours :)

This is a dive bar, so set expectations accordingly. Also, they have no draft beer. The worst thing is that we ordered the appetizer mixed platter for $20, and it was TINY.

Great food and service with a smile...I love the home cooking feel you get when enjoying the food there

Sometimes the wait is long, but the food is good. If you have a problem with your mea, all you have to do is tell your waitress and they fix it. It tastes like it was made at home and it's a great and safe environment for those of all ages.

Live close to this place so we figured we'd try it out. Every time we pick up food they mess up the order. One time my steak fingers were missing meat in the middle! Recently they forgot to add Texas toast to my order as well. They are always rude and slow. Do not recommend this place no matter how close you live to the restaurant.
