The Bar & Grill

The Bar & Grill is a casual, clean, modern bar and grill that does embody its namesake. I have been here several times since they opened, and honestly can't find anything to complain about.They have a pretty decent menu that is more than just "bar food". In fact, the concept began by adding Chef Robert Flores Jr. ("Chef Rob") "to bring contemporary twists on traditional food bites."Probably what I like most about this place is its atmosphere. Laidback South Texas vibes for sure, reinforced by its location in the underrated Flour Bluff area of Corpus. Its patronized and ran by good people.As I recall, this place opened either right before or shortly after the beginning of the Pandemic. As I have remained acutely aware of what those events had on small businesses (I am a banker, and I am also a "foodie"), I had initial concerns that this place may not have pulled through like so many others had not. Luckily, they weathered the storm, and here they remain representing South Texas culture at its best.If you are visiting Corpus, and have plans to head to North Padre Island, be sure to stop by here on your way there or back!

Omg! We were going to get Lumpia food and they were closed so we were hungry & tired! So we stopped here & we were blown away! Outside it's dark, but inside great ambiance and margaritas! Happy Hour menu, best burger & fries, hubby was blown away by the salad! Great food!!! Great service definitely recommend! Tired of tacos and whataburger

By the looks outside you would not expect the AMAZING food this place has. The only thing lacking is their service that could be better, there was only one waitress for everyone there.

Fun atmosphere that was very adaptable to an entire town of football fans descending into the restaurant. The Bar & Grill is .5 miles away from Flour Bluff stadium and they were welcoming to rival team fans. I had the fish tacos and enjoyed the tortillas, fresh fish, and mango salsa.

My boyfriend & I were visiting from out of town and wanted to try something new thank goodness we found this place! Everything was amazing food was fresh & great portion sizes. Staff was helpful and attentive to our needs. They even offer a kids menu selection! They had a lot of choices for food and I'm glad we got this! My boyfriend got the lobster corn as suggested in comments & it did not disappoint!

Went for the first and last time. I ordered a patty melt and this is what I was served. No bacon, no sauce and the meat was overcooked. Asked for chili cheese fries on the side. I'm glad I checked my order before I left because it was regular fries. However, was changed a $3.00 up-charge. The bar tender corrected it right away. Chili was salty and cold. I could tell the chili was sitting there for a long while and tasted old. I won't go back and I won't recommend..

We sat at the bar when we arrived. Food was slow but they were training. Bartender was amazing! She was friendly and outgoing. Kept up with us and the regulars were friendly. We had a blast! Food was really good too! We had the ribs, birria ramen, birria tacos and burger.

This place is local and we NEED local but the last 3 times we went it was awful. Although it is a full restaurant they don't have a kids menu. So if you order something for a 3 year old you pay 39 year old prices and they will NOT accommodate. I ordered toddler an omelette and asked them to just do one egg, less everything, etc. they refused and made a full 3 egg omelette...for a 3 year old. Next, my food was way undercooked so asked them to put back on for a bit and came back inedible. Now, went for the last time unfortunately. I ordered the chicken fried steak with smashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Potatoes were not smashed was the first clue. Waitress made a comment I couldn't hear so just thought whatever. Unfortunately they were not even close to done I couldn't cut them with my fork. Ugghhhh...it's just potatoes let me try the entree. Absolutely SCORCHED to the point where it could crack with a good hit on the table. They smothered it in so much gravy I barely had space to cut it. Obviously to hide the fact that it was massively overcooked. I did send it all back and they did take it off the bill, but I left hungry. Sucks because there is so little in the Bluff but, we will not go back. Seems like they can't keep staff.

Always great food and fine service. One of our favorites! Their Chicken Fried Steak is perfect. Try the lobster corn, it's wonderful.
