Texas Flame Steakhouse

Underwhelmed is an understatement. The decor in the room I was seated in was dark and old. The food was plain awful. I ordered chicken fried steak off of the lunch menu ($10.99) with sweet potato fries and a house salad as my sides. The steak must have been breaded and frozen ahead of time. It came out soggy, salty, and not tasting like much. This is an American restaurant! I thought for sure anything chicken fried would be fool proof. I was wrong. My sweet potato fries were oily, limp, and also soggy. Salad was ice berg lettuce with some toppings. My green goddess dressing tasted like and had the texture of butter. Gross! This visit was highly disappointing. I'm grateful that the complimentary bread rolls were delicious and our waitress was nice. Unfortunately, I will not be spending my money here again.

Another excellent steakhouse in Corpus. They grill their steaks over an open flame with mesquite wood, which really adds a lot of flavor. Mesquite grilled steaks are a thing in South Texas. Generally always really good service as well. There have been a few times our steaks were over-cooked.

Restaurant was half full. We were the only people coming in. It was 8pm. Took a while to figure out where to seat us. Ordered steak and chicken for two. Waitress said I could have blackened, fried or grilled chicken. I ordered blackened. Not available. One way. Manager came to talk to me. I didn't make a scene but I became the center of attention for the whole staff. The customer is not right here. This restaurant apparently didn't need any new business.

Went in on a Sunday afternoon. Got my party seated. Ordered the Fried Pickles and Cheese Sticks. Cheese Sticks were ok. Pickles were over cooked and tasted rubbery. Then our Salads soups came out. Nothing special. Soup looked like it just came out of a can. Then entres came. I had the Stuffed Flounder. It was so bad I could not finish eating it. My kids did not enjoy their meals also. The sign from the Road looked so amazing, but once your in. It's a sad dark atmosphere. PS they also charged my ticket for 18% Gratuity and the server asked for additional tip on top on that. Save you money and go to Golden Corrall..... it's cheaper and way better, sad to say.

Horrible place. Manager and staff is rude. No tip on a $122 bill. Food awful. Was embarrassed by the way we were treated.

My wife and I were trying to think of something different to try and I remembered seeing Texas Flame while driving down SPID. We sat at the bar and service was great, that's why we sit there because service is so much better. Not sure why more couples don't do it. We ordered cheese sticks and fried mushrooms for apps, plus a side salad and a Caesar. Mushrooms were good with a light batter. The cheese sticks were not the best, a little hard. Both salads were good. Dinner rolls were very good, reminded us of Texas Roadhouse rolls. They have a very extensive menu, and we decided on the fettuccini with blackened chicken and the rib eye with sweet potato fries and onions and mushrooms. We enjoyed it. We ordered a lot of food and did not eat it all, portions are good. We will definitely be back. I see it is a good place for families.

Our Steaks were put on cold plates which made them cold. The Mac and Cheese was from a box. The service was terrible. We couldn't get refills on alcohol and other drinks. The Server took 20 min to bring us the ticket. Never coming here again. I definitely like the sister Steakhouses better, Niko's and Ol'Steakhouse.

Texas Flame in corpus was great service and delicious food. The pic of pork chops with gravy really doesn't do justice. They were fork tender and generous portions. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly.

Gross! The only thing that was good here was the 70th birthday party. Had one waitress for our party of over 20 ppl. We had to keep getting up to call someone don't know where the server was. Overpriced for below average food. Never again. I'll stick with Nikos.

We took our son, who is visiting from out of town, to Texas Flame for dinner on Sunday. We had eaten there in the past and were pleased with the food and service. This time was a complete disaster!! First we were told by the server that the normally complementary bread had to be requested. The prime rib that our son ordered was overcooked and they took it back. The next prime rib came out cold in the center. When asked if they microwaved the meat, the manager informed us that "No we reheat it in Au ju. They cook it days before and then boil it in juice to heat it up!! NOT GRILLED AS ADVERTISED!! The combo plate that we ordered came out late because the "hot plate" that it is served on would not heat up, so we were told. The chicken was dried out, the ribs were so hard that the meat would not come off the bone and the steak was overcooked dry and really tough. We were disgusted with everything!! They took he prime off the bill and we boxed up the rest of it to take home to the dog. I put it in his bowl and it was still there the morning. What does that say! They need to change the restaurant name to "Texas Shame"! Will not go back!! If you are looking for a great meal, Texas Roadhouse can not be beat! We had our "Steak Redemption" there the next night.
