We are relatively new RVers and have no particular needs when we choose a park, other than if possible, we want it to be within walking distance of any water we're nearby, restaurants, sight seeing sites, etc. Typical tourist stuff. This park is in a residential area and is quiet and very low key.Al and Robyn are great hosts and are almost always on site. Another couple that fills in for them, Harley and Sara, were helping them when we got here so I did all of the reservations, etc. with them. So precious and friendly and helpful. Both couples are Texas friendly and will chat and answer any questions you might have. We ended up staying two months and if we didn't have more travel plans, we'd stay a lot longer.Sites are on the smaller side, and has concrete pads beside where you park, not concrete to park on. You actually park on sand and grass, or in some cases gravel, but we haven't had a problem with leveling. Hookups and sewer lines are all easy accessible. There are full time RV and mobile home dwellers as well. Everyone is chill, although there are some children and pets like you'd hear in a typical neighborhood. Quiet time rules are thankfully adhered to.The bathrooms, though clean, are not new and are in a cinderblock building with the laundry area between the men's and ladies rooms. Four washers, which accepts quarters, and Robyn will make change for if you need change, There are also four dryers, that dry like nothing I've ever seen. There isn't a pool or a workout room or morning coffee, although during the winter months, they offer coffee and donuts and give everyone a change to chat and catch up. The Rec Hall isn't top of the line, and is basically tables and chairs, along with a mail/package delivery area, small kitchen and a table for donating or picking up items that you may need. I personally think this is a fantastic idea, and more RV sites should consider it. If you travel full time in an RV, you're very aware of how quickly you pick up stuff you really don't need, or outgrow, and it is so refreshing to have the opportunity to recycle, reduce, and reuse. The Rec Hall is clean and well lit and surrounded by lovely pots of flowers. Monthly rates at time of writing were a little over $500 (plus electric) a month, which includes water, cable and internet. Internet isn't the best, but it works enough. There are always people out walking, sitting and watching each other. It is not gated, but every body keeps an eye out for each other. There are beautiful Live Oak trees throughout the park, although Hurricane Harvey took out a huge portion a few years ago. It's a short five minute walk to the downtown area, which includes pubs and shops, a great coffee shop and there are several artist studios as well. Wonderful birds chirping, a near constant breeze and friendly residents make this a hidden gem.PS--be sure to check out Zachary Taylor Park across the street, and say hello to The General, a 15 year old peacock that's the unofficial mascot of Taylor Oaks.

We are staying in the area for a month and chose Taylor Oaks Rv park mostly because of price and location. This is one of the oldest parks in the area so the sites are on the small side, but adequate for our 37' motorhome. Each site has cable TV and WiFi is free in the clubhouse, or there is dependable high speed WiFi from an outside vender for a separate charge, ($20\ month). There is a city park just outside the entrance for Taylor Oaks, and the park is about 5 short blocks from the bay. The laundry has 4 new washing machines and dryers which cost $1.25 for wash and $1.00 to dry. The old oaks in the park provide filtered shad for many of the sites. We would stay here again.

February, 2024This park is really close to the Gulf of Mexico. They know it and charge more for that, $55.00 a night for full hook-ups. It is quiet but the sites are small and narrow. There was no beach to walk on. You are close to the Main Street with lots of shops. Artsy area mostly. Souvenir shops too. Every morning there is someone who is smoking, with the stink coming into your site. There is a laundry room with 4 washers and 4 dryers. $2.25 to wash and $2.00 to dry. There is only one toilet in the ladies room, lots of doors but apparently only one toilet. I couldn't tell as the voice in the restroom said 'occupied'. The internet is poor here. I would check out the other RV parks in the area as this one is not really worth the $55.00 a night. Cash or Check only. You get a receipt the day you leave, instead of when you hand over the cash. We have been here before but will not be back.

Al & Robyn are the salt of the earth type of people that are very low key. We stayed there for 3 months ,quiet, functional ,friendly.Would I recommend this rv park ? YES ! Rosalyn & I enjoyed our stay and booked another 90 days for next winter 2024. I exercised every morning in the park across the street with all the birds and General the peacock[who left me alone].There were falcons and a plethora of many type of fowl. Side note : take time to talk to Al and his beautiful wife , they have done a lot in life and are very open in sharing. Nice people. Thanks Ivan & Rosalyn
