Stopped here for breakfast on our way home from coast and sure glad we did. Both service and food were great. Our waitress did a great job not only with our table but she had a great rapport with everyone she saw. Definitely will stop here again. Well worth the visit.

Food was very good but service was lacking. Stopped on our way back from a family weekend in Rockport. They offer a lunch buffet but we didn't know until I got up to use the bathroom and this after we ordered. Had to ask our waitress for refills on our water, coffee and creamer several times & never got them. Again, the food is very good but the service was not. I ordered the carne guisada plate and my bf ordered the steak plate. Both were nice portions and very flavorful.

Pulled in here to have a quick breakfast. Such a disappointment. We ordered the migas plate with a side of sausage. The sausage was undercooked and tasted like spam. Before we ordered, we asked our waitress what kind of meat was on this particular plate and she responded that she had no idea what kind of meat it was. Wasn't sure?? Really?? I would have thought she would have asked someone and let us know. When I told the lady at the counter twice that the sausage was not cooked, she just smiled and kept on pushing numbers on the register. Will definitely not be back!!

Our waitress was top notch. She was sweet and kind. She talked to our kids and even put in their order first so it would be completely cooled by the time our meals arrived. She was wonderful, 5 stars for service! The manager came by the table twice made sure we had all we needed & to see how things were. Top both for service. The food. My husband and I both ordered the fajitas. We were disappointed to find it was a small pan fried steak that you had to cut up yourself to put in your tortillas. We also had chips & queso. As well as a couple of chicken Flautas. Unfortunately their grease was old making the homemade chips & Flautas taste a little funky. I wish they offered a salsa that wasn't so spicy. We couldn't eat it & my husband eats very spicy food & hot sauce so I know it had to be very hot. The food was good. But not great. The staff was wonderful. And I hear the breakfast is also. This is an oilfield town so this placed is packed everyday, that's gotta count for something!

The food = 4 stars. The service = 3 stars. Our waitress was not impressed with us. Maybe the non-smoking white people seated in the smoking section of the restaurant with full beach gear turned her off, who knows. All I know is that the main dining room was like McDonald's play land and the smoking section is empty and well air conditioned. If you can get past the weird decor and avoid the buffet you are already a winner. This place is coated in butterflies, random paintings, old school fake wood paneling and SyFy on the TV. Hell yea it is. Our food was decent. Double ditto for the chicken quesadilla, excellent choice. Ask for sour cream and hoard your salsa. The other half got some crazy combo plate. Save your pennies, order a la carte off the first menue page. Don't skip the guac, good stuff.

I came to find out if the food was good, It didn't impress. The salsa is tomato puree from a can very little heat. I had the enchilada plate and a fajita taco, a complete disappointment, velveteea cheese no onions in the enchilada, the gravy was bland. Since when did restaurants stop putting onions on enchiladas., I bet it was some sex in the city wannabe who said no onions please and now all the Mexican restaurant associations say "no cebolla en las sheez enchiladas" Sometimes it takes effort to make good food, today wasn't the that day.

Do NOT ever eat here! out of a group of 10 people only 1 person enjoyed their food. The service was absolutely terrible and we had to ask for napkins, refills, coffee, and creamer several times. We never received any napkins after asking multiple waitresses and the manager. When ordering the waitress insinuated that the torta sandwich was small and suggested ordering two. However it was almost 8in long, and was not asked for nor needed and when asked to return it we were treated very rudely by the entire staff. The manager ignored us for 30 min pretending to be busy, and then the head manager also ignored us for another 20 min. They then apologized and agreed to take it off our tab. But when we went to pay the lady at the front desk said "they told me to give this to you and charge you for it." To no surprise it was the same sandwich in a paper bag stapled shut, and was stuffed under the register. This is the worst service I have ever received and would never go back. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

It's not bad. We're from central Texas and grew up on MUCH more flavorful Mexican food. But, by south Texas standards, this is pretty good. Their queso is quite good. The lunch buffet is small but good and has a good variety. The wait staff is very friendly. This is not spicy Tex-Mex but is far better than Jalisco style in my opinion.
