A little gem that needs to be recognized! The "primo" taco is a MUST TRY. I am just a visitor in the RGV and I usually don't go to a place twice BUT I will make it a point to stop in for a primo taco again! The day I went the service was great. The waitress was attentive and made sure to get our order correct and bring us the add ins we requested. The super quesadilla was also a must try. However it is pretty big but it is worth it. I recommend having a friend splitting and sharing the meal with you. The consume for the primo is delicious. I wish the charro beans that come with the super quesadilla was a bit bigger but other than that this is a great spot!

The food was decent overall. Honestly the service was pretty slow. I don't blame the waitress because she seemed to also be the cashier but she only came when needed. I ordered a michelada and it wasn't great. The mug felt warm...the mugs should always be chilled. Then they lined the lip of the glass with too much tajin...I tasted more the tajin than the beer or mix. I then ordered a regular bottle Dos XX and it felt room temperature...it wasn't even close to being cold.On to the food...I ordered the combo of 2 birria tacos w/ consome and 2 tacos de trompo. This was my first time tasting birria...I'd go somewhere else. They look good, but I tasted more of the toasted tortilla than the meat or consome. I did dip the tacos in the consome but on their own...I only tasted tortilla. The trompo tacos were on the other hand, quite nice. Loved the pineapple in them.I give the stars because my wife had the sincronizada and she loved it. Had great flavor! Their salsas were also great. Might give it another try and order something else....

Best tacos I've had so far in the RGV. Quick, cheap, and drool tasty. They've got an extensive menu with lots to try but hands down, the tacos are a must-try. I'm a big fan of their tacos de lengua (beef tongue) and tacos de cabeza (beef head). Haven't found too many places with these options, so those alone make it worthwhile. The meats are nearly melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with flavor. And while the proteins are praiseworthy, their handmade corn tortillas are the all-star. Seriously. Light, fluffy, and durable. You can't miss here. Noteworthy: the birria tacos

I'm here in a business trip; originally born and raised in San Antonio so I know good barbacoa. I did a search online for Best barbacoa and TripAdvisor brought this place up. While I can't say they are the best in the area, since I've not tried others, I can say they are delicious. The only thing I'd ask the next time is to drain a little more fat. I ordered the 5 taco plate and my last two were rather soaked in the fat. That said, they were good; at least my tacos weren't falling apart. The hot sauce is great. They have a table, oil based hot sauce which is supposed to be richer and hotter. It is and is good. If you're looking for typical breakfast tacos like potato and eggs or anything eggs, this isn't the place, but meats, yes. Con provecho!

The papa asada is really good. I think is the best one in the valley. However I did not like their all pastor tacos that much, they were really salty. All in all I would go back because their papa asada is delicious!!!

Like other reviewers have mentioned, the biggest draw in to this taqueria are the homemade tortillas. I have been here twice and both times the tacos were ok. The combo is basically the order of tacos and a drink, no charro beans (you have to pay extra) and no potato. I ordered the beans the first time and was very disappointed because they had a lot of the grease on top which I had to scoop out to eat the beans. But to my dismay I didn't find many beans just mostly pieces of weenies, so it was weenie soup more than charro beans. On my second visit I ordered the potato (on the menu it says it's topped with butter, cheese, and sour cream). The only toppings I got were cheese and black pepper. I will return for to go orders because I can customize my tacos with pico de gallo and a good salsa at home. But it is a bit disappointing to eat at the restaurant.

The food in this place is ok nothing more after waiting 45 minutes for just two tacos. Mind you the place only had three tables occupied . The service was horrible... From when you walk in and having to decide do we sit or wait because They won't acknowledge you. Then to have the wait staff not care if you're there or not after deciding to sit yourself . Then needing to ask for things that are missing from your dish. We had to get up and get our own napkins because they do not acknowledge what you need again. When asking a waitress for a box just to be ignored and looked at like I was stupid! They do not come back and check on you. Not one time out of the hr we were there were we asked if we needed anything. We only went because of a video review that was obviously paid for because there's no way! I do not recommend this place! Waist of time and money!!

Visited the 5 mile line location, for dinner, were advised they ran out of guacamole. So. We changed our order, and ordered a combo which include Charro beans. We noticed we were not served beans with our tacos. Also, the baked onion tasted horrible. Upon asking for our beans, after having started consuming out dinner. So, we were now bound to pay for our dinner, as these type of establishments don't have standards, or protocol, that bind them to quality control, or Service standards. Do not eat at this place, it has been several occasions that we ha received bad sevice.

I love this place. Passing by this area and found this tiny local Taco restaurant. I love it!The ambience is casual and family style. The server is very friendly, no much English speaking, but the menu shows everything clearly, which is very helpful. The pictures on the menu shows exactly what I get, honest!
