Taqueria Jalisco

My colleagues and I were grateful to find such a delicious meal on our road trip to Edinburg. Along the east side of the highway in Falfurrias, Texas, is a Mexican restaurant and not much else. It turned out to be a fantastic place to stop for a meal. Two of us ordered grilled chicken with the most luscious poblano cream sauce, and the other had the carne guisada. Our server recommended the house made corn tortillas, and oh my were they fresh and flavorful (unlike most bland grocery store tortillas). The service was efficient though speaking Spanish helped immensely. If you don't speak Spanish though, don't fear, the menu is in pictures! Just point to the image of what you want. There were clearly lots of regulars based on the banter between the manager and some of the patrons. Even in the middle of the afternoon, it was fairly busy, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The decor was well loved and maybe a little kitschy, but the space was clean and well lit. I'd go back and hope I remember which exit on my next drive way south.

Another great meal here. Chile relleno this time. Charro beans were excellent as usual. Will be back next time.

We were passing through the area and were in need of a late breakfast. The restaurant was clean and roomy. I liked it the minute we walked in. Our waitress greeted us quickly and took our drink orders. She was friendly and efficient. My husband and I ordered the chilaquiles verdes and added two eggs. My sons each got the waffle plate.The chilaquiles were delicious. I loved that the chips were small and that there were bits of onion and chunky salsa in them. They also had great flavor. The eggs were cooked exactly as asked. The beans were good and the potatoes were fine. I would have preferred pan-fried over deep-fried potatoes if asked but they were still OK, if a little bland.My sons seemed to have liked their waffles. They didn't complain and they ate everything on their plates. Honestly, this might be a 5-star restaurant. Having only tried breakfast, I can't say for sure. If I lived in the area, this might be a family favorite restaurant. I would definitely recommend it.

I come through here every week and I make sure to stop here for breakfast. The restaurant is super clean the staff is very friendly. The food is also very good try the carne asada taco with pico.

Nice very nice place superb service the restaurant is clean I have eating many different Mexican restaurant this one deserves the 5 stars reasonable prices and the food so fresh better than fast food joints for the price I pay was a descent meal I couldn't ask for nothing else, now let me tell you the home made chipotle sauce was made to perfection very light spicy taste as you all know that's how chipotle sauce is made the flour tortillas were excellent the chicken char grill and sautéed vegies cook to perfection. I order my food and took 10 minutes right on the dot and the coffee was made fresh not sitting there for hours.The managers always making sure customers are happy with the food and service an A+ great job.Keep up the good work and you will see me again when I travel through Texas highway 281.

The service was ok but the food was terrible. I ordered carne guisada and it was horrible no flavor and the tortillas were crispy on the burnt side. Wouldn't recommend unless you have to get something to eat. Your better off getting a pizza from next door
