As far as I've eaten in new Braunfels, Texas and for the people that follow me in my post, El Tapatio is by far the best Mexican food in new Braunfels, Texas. Fantastic service tasty chili sauce chips drinks always full. Green sauce could be a little spicier other than that excellent food, atmosphere, service, quality, cleanliness, and price.

There are two locations in New Braunfels, this one is closer to downtown. I like this one. The menu is the same in both locations. I prefer the food at this location, plus we get to go walking around the square afterwards. Service is really good. Polite employees, fairly quick. We've been here twice, to this location. Once with a party of ten, service and food was great. This time just three of us. The ambiance is casual, great place for after church meal. The pictures are of both visits. Highly recommend the gorditas, great size and full of meat. The cheese enchiladas are good. Also recommend the Molcajete. Full of meat. Had to take most of it home.

El Tapatio has excellent home made corn tortillas, great prices and friendly staff. After trying to get decent service or food at several other nearby Mexican restaurants & being completely let down we came here and it didn't disappoint. They accommodate their guests, the food was traditional Mexican & it was all smiles the whole time. Barcelona F.C. on the tv, drink specials and fresh shrimp tacos. This feels like home for me. I couldn't have asked for more. You don't need big signs, fancy modern aesthetics or absurdly priced Mexican-fusion recipes. Places like this keep it simple and they are all the better for it. Highly recommended.

Easily the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Ordered two Carne asada burritos and they only come with iceberg lettuce and tomatoes--which I've never heard of before. The burritos tasted rancid. The service is just as bad as the food.

I ordered CAldo De Res online through door dash. The restaurant was out of that soup (like they always are) and automatically exchanged my soup for MEnudo without notifying me. They also had the gall to automatically upcharge me for something that I did NOT order. Switcheroo. Switch and bait.Very dishonest, uncommunicative, unethical, unprofessional restaurant. Buyer beware.It's like you order a steak, and the restaurant doesn't have it, so they send you intestines instead and charge you extra for it without your permission or knowledge.Horrendous, horrifying experience.

This place is just a run down Mexican restaurant, food was not good. Steak that was sticking out was cold but hot on the inside. Only reason it's still running is it's location, people assume it's going to taste good. Bathroom was all broken. Good thing there are a lot better restaurants nearby. Learned the hard way.

It is Not Mexican food, I'm not sure what kind of food it is but it is not Mexican, I lived ten years in El Paso, been to Guajajara, and Guanajuato, and I am married to a Mexican Lady form Mexico, I know what Mexican food is. In a nutshell the food has no flavor and just isn't good. Secondly their were tortilla pieces on the blinds and quite a bit of trash/dirt on the floor. However I must state the Tea was good. I do not recommend this restaurant, and I personally will never visit it again.

This is a disgusting restaurant. It was the worst beef enchiladas I have ever had. My son said he would never come back unless Gordon Ramsey came here with his kitchen nightmares show to fix this place. I told him I wouldn't come back even if Gordon came here.It's a shame because the chips and salsa was great and we were anticipating the same with the food.This was some kind of nasty beef in the enchiladas that was like not sure but kind of a mushy meat let's call it creamy meat because there was no texThe fajita tacos came and they tried to say it was fajita tacos but we said we wanted tacos with fajita meat. Take a look at what they brought back out.It was closer to fajita meat but still don't think it qualifies.Right now I am hoping we don't get food poisoning because the beans were cold. Will let you know tomorrow if we get sick.Next day, Nobody got sick but that doesn't mean it is healthy.Stay away from here.
