Taqueria El Sazon Tapatio

My family and I (4 of us total) went to grab a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The place was bustling with people but we were able to be seated as soon as we arrived. The drinks arrived fairly quickly and the food didn't take too long afterwards. Everything was delicious-- we all ordered different entrees (sadly, I can't recall all of the orders; I got the mini tacos: 2 barbacoa and 2 carnitas, I believe) and we all agreed that every plate was a winner. Despite the busy nature of the restaurant, service was strong from the beginning to the end! We never felt neglected and we could see why people are eager to eat here. The next time we come through this town again, we will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!

Stayed the night in new Braunfels, headed to San Antonio...saw this place on yelp and had to try...went for lunch and had to try the barbacoa gorditas It was great ,my wife tried the mini tacos.All was great service was great and prices also. great place ,must try....will be back

We stopped in on our way home for a quick bite. It was packed on a Sunday morning and after my first bite it was easy to see why. The flavor on our food was amazing, the portions were generous, and the two ladies waiting tables were friendly and helpful. Make sure to try the homemade salsa, it was excellent!

Great chorizo tacos at El Sazon Tapatio. Today I did take out and they were served hot and fresh. The restaurant was packed. People standing and waiting for a table. A line of take out diners waiting for their food. Always a great sign when you're trying a new breakfast stop. Large portions and not over seasoned. The restaurant is small and cozy like many family restaurants. I will be coming back to try their lunch menu.

First time visiting El Sazon. Walk in, friendly greeting, sit where you like, Very clean. Came to eat breakfast on our way to New Braunfels for a work thing. Staff super friendly and attentive, they all touch hands on our table which breaks down to super attentive. I ordered the Machacado plate (scrambled eggs mixed with onions, tomatoes, chile and beef that's dried.) Was worried about the Tomato content as they seem to water it all down but, no worries also, refried beans to the plate. Homemade corn and flour tortillas. Loved the corn but, flour too thick for me. Breakfast was really well done, table Salsa is on the low spice for my taste buds. I love it super spicy but, went with it. My husband had the Huevos a la Mexicana and a Machacado Taco on the side. He enjoyed his food and you can't beat the price. They do have taco specials... 3 Breakfast tacos w/ 2 ingredients for $5.99. All plates for breakfast are under $10 the most expensive is a T-bone for under $12. Still super affordable. Lunch plates under $15. Burritos under $8. Like I said affordable. Bathrooms super clean and well taken care of. Not a full bar. They have beer. All plates including Fajitas under $25. Staff great how can you go wrong? You can't. If your in the area, looking for affordable Mexican style breakfast, stop by you won't regret it.

Best menudo in New Braunfels. I am sorry I love good menudo and have never tried anything else. Service is always very good. Other in my party have tried the Mexican plates and enjoy them as well.

I enjoyed the food! We have gone back for takeout! Authentic flavors, friendly service!

I just want to say that I recommend this place more than the other " fancy Mexican restaurants " , this is like Mexico !! I'm not from there but this food has real homemade flavor , my favorite is the Carne Guisada plate and the fajitas !! Omg !! My son loves the carne asada Jalisco burrito . I have tried molcajete and the shrimp ceviche too everything is delicious , the only bad things is that they need a bigger place!! Now let me tell you those plates are big and they seriously have good prices for everyone .... Servers are super nice I don't remember the names but those ladies are so nice , you always see them with a smile and super happy to help you . I knew this is real Mexican food when real Mexicans are there all the time .

Real Food for Real People. One of my favorite joints of any kind in New Braunfels....and I get to keep up with las novellas...:) Always PERFECT in the day shifts.......drops a notch after 7pm. I suspect the highway work is going to displace them in a year or so. Hope they move down towards Clear Springs instead of leaving the area. Nicest staff in Town.
