Well it was a recommendation from a long Time resident who moved away.We tried it on a second recommendation of someone Visiting with the softball tourney. However, restaurant was dirty and bathrooms yuck.Service was slow and took forever but, BUT she was nice and tried. Several things were wrong and cold.Food tasted middle of the road at best. You should come try it for yourself though

The waitress was very friendly, checked up on us a lot to make sure we were okay, and they even gave us a slice of one of the workers birthday cakes! Clean environment, good morning stop. The tacos I ordered were perfect! They were out quick, which was great because I was hungry! If they had a drive thru, I'd be here every day. Good prices for the portions.

-- UPS --* Decent selection of beer* Guacamole * Friendly service-- DOWNS --* A little pricey for taqueria food* Run-down and dirty* Abundance of cheese and grease* Hard-shell items are soggyWe like to try local places when we're traveling around and do our best to stay far, far away from chains. The Taquerias we've eaten at in the past were decent, so we thought we'd give Taqueria El Rodeo a shot. It's pretty-much what you'd expect - greasy, cheesy food on a menu with plenty of pictures. The waitress was friendly and spoke a little English. They had Negra Modello and some other beers to wash down the food. The only real bummer was that the place was a bit "rough" and not too clean, and they put my taco and tostada on my plate, which was swimming in cheese sauce. So I had to eat the tostada with a fork. The food was so heavy, I never made it to the taco. They serve their tostada chips (red, green and white) with salsa and cheese sauce. We ordered some guacamole - because if a place can't make good guac, they're OUT! The guac was pretty good. I don't think I'd go there again, but it's not too far off from what one could expect from a taqueria in the hood in South Texas. I'd say give it a whirl with low expectations and ask for your crispy stuff on a separate plate. If you love loads of meat and cheese, then this is your place!

This was sub-par tex-mex food. I didn't like the food. I didn't even finish my carne asada meal. I think my fiancé and I even went to McDonalds on the way home because we were still hungry. This was unfortunately the first Mexican restaraunt we went to here in Victoria. When ever a place doesn't look good on the outside, I wonder what the kitchen is like. When we came it, we got the stare down from everyone. The waitress did not seem happy either. I don't plan on going back, I just didn't enjoy the meal or atmosphere at all.

This place rocks!! The wait staff was very good. The place was super clean and has a really nice "diner" feel to it. The fare is straight ahead "TEX MEX" with it's own little flare to most of the dishes, and in the "greasy spoon" tradition, it's really rich and tasty. They offer horchata and carne al pastor, which are two things that are hard to find around here. They also have great soups and serve them all up with home-made tortillas! Give em a try. I'm a fan.

Conveniently located across the street from DeTar Navarro Hospital. Group of 6 went for dinner. Wait staff was nice, but the food made me sick. Had to detox at DeTar. Left a tip bigger than suggested, and was overcharged for our meal. Tried to tell cashier, but she was rude and refused to admit the error. Charged excess of $10-20 over actual menu price. Do not recommend.
