Taco Tony's

We only came here because the other Mexican restaurant in town was closed. We placed a to-go order and waited nearly an hour for our food. We got home to find that 1 item was missing from our order, and the rest of the food was absolutely terrible. The chips in our nachos were soggy and cold, the meat on the nachos was cold and dry, and they use American cheese on the nachos. I've never been to a restaurant that doesn't use cheddar or "queso". One of our meals was a combination meal and was comes with a cheese tostada.... take a look at the "cheese" tostada. The staff was friendly, but the place seemed to be understaffed because you have to wait a long time to place your order, and they just let the phone ring off the hook. Save your money, do not eat here! If I could give zero stars I would.

The food is good here and the place is nice. I just couldn't believe a bowl of queso was $6 and you are charged for each refill. I don't remember the last time I was charged for a refill. Two adults and a 4 year old spent $38 with no alcohol.

Stopped on the way back home from a cook of, food was just average. It's kinda hard to screw up breakfast tacos. I ad chorizo and egg plate, once again food was just your typical Mexican breakfast nothing to really go out of your way for. Now here's the bad part, I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was busy. But service that bad is completely unacceptable! Our waitress took forever to even acknowledge that we were there, then when we ordered coffee it took another five minutes to bring it to the table. My food order was incorrect and we had to repeatedly ask for refills. Needless to say pass this place up and eat at Bucee's!

The Mexican food was once great at this place but today, it is not worth stopping after breakfast. The breakfast tacos really work - Mon-Friday - they have a special on three tacos... otherwise - think about eating elsewhere for Mexican for lunch or dinner. The word is that it is for sale...

This was once a great place to eat at. We go out of our way to eat here. My wife loves it, I have been disappointed the last 5 times I have been. 3 Togo orders were messed up and the 2 other times I ate there and it was awful service. They messed up my order, fixed it and wanted me to pay the extra $1 for the extra meat. After the past 2 Togo orders were messed up!!! I used to be very pleased with the service and good. Now they staff has changed and it's not the same. I shouldn't have to go refill my drink myself when there is only 4-5 tables! It's not worth me driving 50 miles round trip to get Togo food that isn't correct. I would not recommend eating there. Any other restaurant that has messed up my food ONCE they offer a meal on the house. They have messed up my order 3-4 times and want to charge me more!! Makes no sense. I will change my 1 star when the service improves. Not once has the owner asked me if everything was ok. We have been going there for 6+ years, once a month at least!! Check the prices of your food, they don't give you a check at your table. Just keep driving thru eagle lake!! Stop at buccees to hold you over.

First off, I'm going to start off by saying that Yelp is run by a bunch of extortionists. They allow reviews by competitors and disgruntle current and former employees without the option to even consider removing those and others that are proven to be unfounded. This violates their own content guidelines but they don't care. Yelp is also full of a bunch of people that will cry over the smallest things. Such as the person that had ONE bad thing happen after 20+ years of going there... "I have been a faithful patron of this restaurant for over 20+ years.". Gives them a one star review.That being said, We are new to the town and wanted to try something different. There isn't much in the way of choices so we gave this place a try. My thoughts at first were "oh no, what did we get into..." but I was WAY wrong. I had the Chicken Enchiladas Verdes and my wife had the chicken fajitas. We've both had these dishes at other establishments so we were able to get a good comparison. The chicken in the enchiladas was cooked well and was shredded evenly. Meaning that there were no large clumps of un-shredded chicken. It wasn't dry and it had a good flavor. My wife said the chicken in her meal had a flavor that reminded her of a restaurant we ate at on our trip to Mexico. They only gave her 2 tortillas but she was able to get more without trouble.The look and feel is typical of a small town older establishment but it's clean and the food is good. There must be a reason they have been in business for over 45 years! I would definitely give them a try again and recommend them as a place to eat.

Very bad experience. I have been a faithful patron of this restaurant for over 20+ years. Today after placing my order, and waiting several minutes. My mother and I received our food cold, and my tacos weren't supplied the correct portion of meat. The waittress brings both our plates back again. This time with the rice not fully cooked, and tells me that the cook says she will charge me next time for not being satisfied with the under portion of meat. At that point i had lost my appetite, and requested that I speak to the cook immediately. I spoke to the cook not even 5 min after and explained my dissatisfaction. Havin said to her"I wouldn't have complained if the food was done right the first time." Not knowing that it was the owners daughter who I was speaking to. I will end my review with this. If your into paying high price for under portion food and mediocre service to taco Tony's. If you value great food, and decent prices I recommend papásitos in katy.

Generous portions, friendly staff, good chips and salsa(the tell-tale of a good Mexican food restaurant). I would recommend.
