Don't let the run down place fool you for it is packed with some pretty good tacos on homemade tortillas...actually you make your own tacos to order with whatever food items you want. The way I see it is a real hole in the wall place with some good tacos...I'll definitely be back to try other menu items...

This is the taco hole in the wall you need in your life.Want to know the stupidest thing ever? I use to work across the street when I lived in Corpus Christi and never noticed it. We were down in Corpus for a wedding, when we went to get breakfast. Ladies were nice, maybe a bit skeptical about us, cause we looked slightly overdressed, but nice. I also got the impression they mistook us for people not familiar with Mexican food and surprised when we asked for things like cilantro, onion, spicy green sauce, and my husband was able to request his tacos in Spanish.Tacos are thick and plentiful. They had your traditional ones like Al Pastor and some unique ones, but I think are more of a Corpus thing. We got Mexican cokes, because of course.Tortillas were homemade flour, so we got those, though I prefer corn tortillas. That flour stuff is all husband's influence, but sometimes they're worth it like here. People who come here, comes cause they know, or are average working people. No trendy people wanting to be seen in this dive taco place. It's not the prettiest place, but it's clean and that's what matters. Those tacos were too delicious to worry about the ugly architecture. You've got to try them. I'm sure you'll enjoy them, just like my husband and I did.

The breakfast tacos here were flavorful and affordable. One large taco of migas with refried beans spread on the flour tortilla was filling, and relatively healthy. Relatively because it was probably the lightest thing I can order - other things are heavy on all sorts of red meats and not much vegetables. At least one oversized taco came out to be less than $3, a fair price for the amount I received. Pros:Tasty kidney refried beansMigas option availableHomemade flour tortillas (oversized and thick to hold the content)Cons:Food not made fresh to order - cafeteria-line styleAtmosphere was a dive - feels like a country way station inside that used to be a former convenience store back in the old days for the farmers nearby.

I live in the neighborhood around taco Rico and I grew up on this place. I've tried every single taco place this city has to offer and not a one comes close to this place. The people who work here are some the best ppl in the service industry. I'd give up Chick Fil a or any of the other restaurants in CC to make sure I had taco Rico breakfast every morning.

We stop at Corpus Christy on our way to SPI, and we were looking for some good tacos for breakfast, we came to this place, because of the reviews, and we do not regret it. When we arrived the parking lot was full (which is a good sign for any restaurant), the parking is a mess, since there are no lines on the floor, everybody parks as they come. Do not be discouraged if you see it full of cars, since service is very fast and most people ask for their tacos to-go. The place is really small, with only 6 tables for eating in, so it would be hard to accomodate large groups or families. You basically walk to the taco bar, where there are different taco fillings for you to see and choose, the lady making the flour tortillas is right there are well. Fresh made flour tortillas are hard to beat. We tried picadillo, chorizo&potatoes, carne guisada (it seemed to be the most asked), and barbacoa. Everything was delicious, our favorites were chorizo&potatoes and carne guisada, the barbacoa was too greasy for our taste. The price is hard to beat too, 5 tacos plus 2 drinks were less than 20 dollars. Also, tacos are very stuffed with the filling of your choice, so they have forks, because it will fall off your taco, two tacos will be more than enough for the average taco lover. We will definitely come back for more delicious tacos

Don't let the shanty appearance fool you! This place is unique, clean, quick, and they have such an awesome array of tacos that makes it difficult for one to choose. I highly recommend for a diet meltdown, stress eating and those who want to spoil themselves with some carbs for the week.

It sure isn't a large place but the food and service is outstanding. If you haven't had their tacos yet it is a must. Prices are great too.
