Taco El Compadre

We ate here last night and the food was amazing. Portions were huge and at a great price. The waitress didn't speak English so come prepared. No English = authentic Mexican food!!!

Tacos vapor de papa muy ricos. ElPersonal y servicio es muy bueno. Taco de harina de frijoles con queso me gustó mucho. El lugar es pequeño pero vale la pena. Quiero regresar a probar más antojitos.

Excellent food!! Service and atmosphere. My wife and ate here on a trip and absolutley loved it! Highly highly recommended

This was my daughter's and I first time trying the food from here. Food is amazing. I definitely will be ordering more in the near future. The torta left me speechless

We were looking for something near the Brownsville airport and saw some good reviews on this place.They weren't kidding. This may be the best lunch we've eaten in years.The servers were great and friendly. They did not speak much English but were very friendly and patient with us as we spoke mediocre Spanish.We had combination plates. The tacos and enchiladas were amazing.We'll be back.

On Southmost!! craving tripe tacos its the place to be, quite a few establishments to choose from, some are over packed some are not?? looking for something in between decided to stop off at El Compadre!! actually my first time, first impressions, nice décor, clean, well kept!!Service was friendly and attentive!!!My order, una orden de tacos de tripa semi suaves, you can get your tripe tacos soft, medium, or crunchy (doraditas) con una soda de toronja (grapefruit pop)!!!The tacos five stars on taste!!! just as ordered, not to hard or soft!!! the portions threw me off a bit?? some where over packed with tripe and one or two not so?? but very good!!! also on the miss was the complimentary beans?? we got chips?? but no beans ??didn't ask for any, maybe they ran out?? what I did ask for was grilled onion, don't know if that's extra or complimentary?? so in end very good tacos, just maybe the best time to go is Monday thru Wednesday for the special?!?! you get everything!! except grilled onions?? doesn't say??!!

We were looking for taquitos and we got lucky. This place has some delicious south of the border style taquitos. Give this place a try when you're in the area

If you are into homestyle food, then a lot of the items on the menu were originally made by the owner's mother. The food is delicious!

My grandmother was hungry so we stopped by here and it was the best food service pretty fast very excellent ambiance aswell
