Friendly server, fair prices and tasty food that was cooked and seasoned correctly. Charro beans were flavorful without being greasy, tostados were crispy and loaded! Trompo was yummy. They serve Aguas frescas including horchata fresa. We will eat here again when in the area!

So, I'm out here visiting from So-Cal, and yes I am a pure blood gringo, BUT I have lived and worked in or near Mexico for most of my adult life. Having said that, the Mexican food down here in South Texas has been, well........much less than what I was hoping for. It seems like TexMex is much more Tex than Mex. Don't get me wrong, the bbq down here is phenomenal and you guys win that category hands down. But the Mexican food is just lacking, everywhere. Thank God I found this little piece of heaven in Mercedes. True Mexican flavors by different names (bistec =carne asada; trompo=al pastor: and those other names I still don't know, but they're delicious. If you're from CA or AZ and missing legit Mexican food, come here, cuz they have it!

It's like a quesadilla with trompo bistek & cheese and the sandia agua so delicious. Recommend highly and very reasonably priced.

Very good selection on the menu of foods. Good food prepared to order, fresh. Friendly staff quick to greet you and take orders. Prompt bringing orders while still hot including soup that is very tasty. The atmosphere is clean and friendly and not filled with loud music or loud conversations.

Bad service!! Half of our party were already seated and had just ordered. We got there at 10:15pm and they told us they could not serve us only to go orders. They said they closed at 11pm. Thumbs down

My go to taco place..I always order the combo with bistec and trompo- 4 corn tacos and a loaded baked potato. The green sauce seals the deal - yummy
