We had such a fun stay at this perfectly-sized condo community! We were part of an aqua yoga retreat and enjoyed every moment! The management was nice and sent out notices about our activities which I thought was really proactive. The owners and residents could join in but most didn't. However, we chatted with a lot of residents later and they were VERY KIND and RESPECTFUL and I appreciated them. The pool was heated to 88/89/90 depending on the sun and it was perfect!

My family of five (including 3 teenagers) really enjoyed our stay here. The location, price and accommodations were just right for us. And the staff was friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Surfside is a great rental spot on Padre Island. We've stayed here twice and will return again.I definitely recommend Surfside over the hotels nearby. It feels like a home away from home: a good low-stress place to relax and make your own for a week. Affordable rates let us stay a few extra days. The location is across the street from a major public beach and has a nice private pool. There's also a courtyard area around the pool with picnic tables, lounge chairs and charcoal grills. Good wifi, cable tv. The rooms we've stayed in are nice - each is a little different. Your mileage may vary room to room but our experience has been great. Plenty of home comforts like a full kitchen and silverware, nice and clean - well maintained. Everything on Padre island is pretty close - it isn't too hard to find good food nearby. Price and atmosphere vary by season - of the two times we've come, one (middle of summer) was very busy and the other (mid September) was pretty quiet and much cheaper. We'll probably come back for a week in the spring.

this is the worst place i've ever been, everything is so cheap, the beds are like rocks, roaches are everywhere, bathroom door doesn't lock, there's an old dirty fan in our room it's disgusting. Sheets and covers are itchy and uncomfortable. Outlets don't/ barley work. There's a TV in the living room, master bedroom, but no TV in the other room even thought there's everything for a TV. Hair was found on our pillows even though we had just got into the room. Lights and lamps barley work. Won't let you go to the pool after 11:00 pm, if you do go to the pool you have to wear a tiny green wristband that falls off my arm all the time, if you loose the band it's a $10 fine. If you "damage" a towel it's a $10 fine, "lost" dishes and towels are a $10 fine. This is the worst place i've ever been, i'd rather be anywhere else besides here. Im never coming back.

We stayed a weekend for a wedding but wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed it more. I got a little nostalgic because Surfside reminded me of a place my Grandparents had on the Chesapeake Bay growing up. This isn't a hotel at all, it is much more of a community than that. A very welcoming community. The people at check in were delightful, very ready to help with anything you may need. The condos are just fine, beach vacation rentals on par with anything else. Our room did not have a sleeper sofa, so really four would be the most to stay there comfortably. Not sure about the other rooms. In the evenings there were sounds of families grilling and enjoying the courtyard and children playing in the pool, but amazingly nothing loud or obnoxious. We came in the cooler months, so the heated pool was awesome. The beach is literally across the street, very convenient and easy to access. The beach is also one of the better in the area. There were four of us and price wise it was the same as getting two hotel rooms. However, here you get a living room, kitchen and all the amenities. This was definitely a better deal, especially if you are staying a while. While we did not bring the pups, they have units that you can and we might just try it. Definitely recommend this spot. I'm very glad we stayed here versus getting a couple hotel rooms.

Small courtyard style condos with 2 bedrooms 1 bath and a decent sized kitchen (with basic plates, pans, etc.) Fits up to 6 (1 queen, 2 twin, and queen roll out couch). Speaking to the front desk I learned that all condos are furnished differently. Mine was very nice, beachy, and comfortable.Seems very reasonably priced with longterm rentals in the winter. Across the street from the beach. Which while it can seem easier to drive your car on the beach and park I have learned to prefer walking there. If you drive you WILL cover your car in sand and have to vacuum it. Walking back isn't very far and you get to use the cleaning station to wash sand off. This place seems VERY VERY family friendly for a nice budget vacation. I went on the 4th of July weekend and while the beach was pretty crowded and people were all in the courtyard it felt much more like a home away from home BBQ rather than a crowded hotel. Speaking of they offer BBQ grills and what looks like smokers in their courtyard as well. While I didn't use them it seemed like many opted out of expensive restaurants in lieu of cooking hotdogs and such.

Pros: small, mostly-owned complex. Nice pool in the central courtyard area. Beach showers. Pets allowed (for extra fee).Cons: have to walk across the street to get to the beach (which could be a pro depending on whether you'd prefer to avoid the traffic on the beach)Nice condos that feel like home away from home. Aren't a whole lot of units, and some of them are owned/may not be occupied at all while you're there. We mostly go off-season, when we find this to be a nice, quiet, near-the-beach-but-not-ON-it spot.

This Place was interesting to say the least. The positive - I met great people and the beach was close. The negative - the room was ok but not the greatest and smelled like dead fish. the grounds were not maintained and no security. Management was hardly on site and not helpful.

After my husband and I stayed FOUR months, the manager slapped a $200 fee onto my online credit card, siting excessive, dirty conditions and 'bugs climbing the walls" in our 2nd bedroom. At our move out I expected there would be a deep cleaning, so I did NOT sweep after removing the tubs in the 2nd bedroom (none of which had food). Interesting that the manager had another renter coming in 2 hours later! Obviously wasn't planning a deep clean! The arbitrary fee was used to house those next renters overnight, although I never saw their bill. Watch out when you give these people your credit card! Sorry! we evacuees did NOT have the $$ to pay for poor management.
