Steak House

May I say that Mr. Romeo (owner of the restaurant) understands what good customer is! What a guy! From the start to the end the employees were happy and ready to serve. Carmen along with a young man, were very friendly and professional. The food looked delish and my plate tasted great! Our cashier was nice and wished us a great day. I will definitely come back when I come through Zapata Texas. Shout out to the Chef(s) for a great tasting steak! So juicy! Thank you for this awesome experience. We came here hungry and we left happy! I'd like to add that we witnessed Mr. Romeo and his crew give a birthday cake to an elderly woman customer which I was so thankful and heartfelt to see! Im glad to see acts of kindness still being displayed!

Great food and a great owner! Salsa was amazing. The owner is a super nice guy, came and talk to everyone to make sure everything was good. Place is really clean and even play good country music. I would definitely recommend this place. Just don't get the steak, it was pretty tuff.

The food is absolutely delicious! We had quesadillas to start with and they are the best I've ever had. My hubby had the stuffed hamburger steak and had gorditas! Delicious!! The waitress was Evelyn and she was super attentive and sweet.

The prices are those of a quality restaurant but the food is far from quality. I have heard old stories of the food used to be good, but not anymore. Steaks are horrible, Mexican food is not fresh or authentic. It's bland boring taste. The only good thing from there was me drink. Half and half lemonade/iced tea. Will I go back? Not by choice. Go down the road north of town, about 4min down the road and eat at Rincon De Los Angeles, the food is quality priced, but you get decent food there.

The restaurant is a bit outdated. Could probably use some renovations in the dining room. They were however, doing some construction while I was there. They start you off with chips and salsa, like most good Mexican restaurants do. I was not a fan of the chips though. They were kind of hard and not very tasty. They also give you soup. I ordered the chicken fried steak with cheese and gravy and it was good. I would note that the food reasonably priced an the drinks come in very large cups which I like so that I don't have to get refills every 5 minutes. They do get packed around noon so I suggest getting there early. My group's food came out quick and The service was good, but not outstanding.

Overall the service was friendly and quick. We were served chips and salsa after we sat down and also given a small complimentary soup. Food was tasty and served in generous portions. The bowl of caldo Tlalpeño was so big that I couldn't finish it. A couple that I assume were the owners were very inviting and friendly and made sure we enjoyed our food. They even gave my son a free t-shirt.

There is a lot to be desired when it comes to Steak House. They used to be absolutely amazing, but now the quality of the food is slipping. Not sure what is going on with them. The staff, as always though, is friendly and eager to try to make you happy.

My favorite food group! Texas! This place is a gem hiding in plain site, right on the famous lake falcon... Good food, fast service from my experience, large menu- you name it they have it, check out the special when you walk in on the chalkboard, lots of options and a good deal and low price... in the great low key; wonderful slow pace of city of Zapata! You can't beat the vibe. It is wonderful! Not like the big cities in Texas. Small business's all over just trying to make it. I want to say this place is beautiful. They have Tex mex and what looks to be good burgers and don't forget the steak house special! A Zapata famous special. Texas on a plate! Chicken fried steak with cream gravy, some good cheese, an enchilada (try the wonderful ground beef) and a gringo style crispy taco, (taco shell with beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese) with rice and refried beans of course, and a little bit of guacamole. Try the panchos. (Deluxe nachos) best border nachos I know of...

The best breakfast I had in a long time waiters were very nice and friendly excellent service AAAAAAAA+++++++++

This place at one time was a great place to eat. The last few times I stopped in the service was horrible, rude waitresses, overpriced and my food was mediocre. What a shame to see such a great place start to go downhill.
