BUYER BEWARE! Beautiful place. Love staying with family. BUT... If you have circumstances outside of your control that make it so you are not able to come, they will not work with you at all. They will not refund you (which I totally understand). And they will not even apply the funds to another date when you can come. Our family's entire vacation fund for the year is gone because of something entirely out of our control. Really tough pill to swallow.

Terrible experience. My reservation was canceled by Starkey because they told me the home I reserved was no longer with their company. They only had 1 other property available that weekend which I was initially told would be the same price, so you can imagine my surprise when I received a booking confirmation that said balance owed $2k! When I finally got Sylvia on the phone she responded angrily and dishonestly that she had told me there was a big cost difference. They would not honor the price and we would have to pay much more than we could afford so we ended up having to cancel our family vacation, which was supposed to be a gift for the grandparents. To make matters worse, my credit card was charged TWICE for the security deposit totaling $742.91 and insisted they credited a refund to my credit card, which I never received. Wasted lots of time emailing and waiting on hold and on the phone with them. Eventually I got my money back only by disputing the charges through my bank. NEVER AGAIN!

I rented an upstairs property through this company and when I checked in to their office I was told construction had started on the balcony/porch of my rental, but I could access it through the downstairs property. When we got there, the outside upstairs porch railing was nonexistent and the entire yard that was part of the rental was covered in construction supplies - not ideal or safe traveling with young children. This construction/repair apparently had just started that day and the workers told her they didn't know there were any more renters. (Note this is not a repair due to the hurricane and was not listed in the property listing.) The lady said she had an alternative plan. She sent me to another property that she said was better because "it had a dishwasher." I didn't come to Port A to wash dishes so that was not a feature I was looking for. The property was not comparable at all. We walked in and the place smelled of cigarette smoke. I drove back to their office and she just said oh yeah the owner smokes. I said well that isn't going to work - again young children. She said she'd just have to give my money back?!!! I informed her I had driven all day with two children. She then called another company and they were able to take care of me. They weren't organized and there was a clear lack of communication between them and their crew. Later, when I looked on their website the property she tried to give me was cheaper (and it looked like it in person.) Good service for their mistake would have been providing us with an upgrade and that did not happen. Disappointing and complicated start to our vacation due to this company. I won't try to use them again.

We stayed at Beach Side and that place was a treat! The pool and slide were so much fun for my daughter. We love the beach but the pool there is hard to leave. Overall it was clean and family-friendly. The office staff made the check in and put process a breeze, answered all our questions about the island, and gave us some good tips about things to check out. We love Port A and finally have our go to rental company!!

I will never book through this company again. Very rude and would not reimburse me for a trip that got cut short because of a mandatory evacuation by the city. The house was also not as described and had a smell, but they did not care.

Beautiful property but poorly managed, live and dead bugs all over. A/C not working on arrival not fixed for 48 hours then went out again and was not repaired for the remainder of stay. Window units were placed but were inadequate. Propane grill did not work, all rusted out. Refused to refund any of cost of stay. Do not rent from them.

Worse properly management. We put a review with them directly and they won't post it. Do not rent form them. We had issues with the internet , refrigerator, AC and the manager argued with us about it. Do not use this company.

DO NOT NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. We booked our weekend for this coming April. Low and behold they they up the price on the weekend because they realize they could make more money on our weekend. Why because it was the sandcastle festival weekend. Their excuse was the owners backed out of the contract since they didn't realize it was the festival weekend but we could have back for double the price. Please read between the lines. They also didn't call us just sent us an email. If we hadn't checked our emails, showed up, they would have billed us the extra amount. What a bunch of greedy snakes! Both the home owners and this so called property management company.

Stay as far away from this company as you can. We booked through Air BNB last year and on our way to the property (from 3 hours out of town) we called to get the door code, just to find out that our property had been double booked. The point of contact stopped answering our calls when we tried to find out if there was a different property we could stay in for the night- like literally told Air BNB she was refusing to take our call. Once we finally got Marsha (owner) on the phone the next day she acknowledged that they had double booked us since the property we rented was on multiple rental platforms. She then promised us her personal vacation home on Port A for a different weekend as a concession for the massive inconvenience of us losing our entire vacation (literally everywhere else was booked since it was a holiday weekend). Once we called to make good on her offer, she told her front desk person to tell us she didn't recall the situation, or us, at all. Which either tells me that 1. She's a gigantic liar, and terrible business person, or 2. This happens so often that she's lost track. I'm not too worries though, Karma is a bitch.
