This is my second B&B to stay at and I felt at home here. This was our first time going to Matagorda and I knew the lodging was limited there. They don't even have a HEB or Walmart in the city. I like to compare cities that way in Texas lol! My coworker raved about the beach here so I wanted to check it out.I pulled up and noticed the Texas landmark. Samuel Rhoads Fisher built this home for his family in 1832. Such a beautiful house and cool that they reused all the original items as they can. Lots of photos of the past. If you enjoy history or appreciate it you will love this place.Peggy and Rik were wonderful hosts. I felt like home here and they made sure everyone was comfortable. Peggy gave us a tour of the house along with the history. Amazing stuff here!!! I love how each room had a theme and she was very detailed in her decorations. We stayed upstairs in room 3. The room was cozy and the bathroom was very clean. Love the little touches to the message and booklets in the room to help you enjoy the area. They even made a home cooked meal for breakfast. It was so good. Loved my stay here thanks to them.

We love it here. Very homey. Attention to detail is incredible. Very personable. Hosts are so welcoming and accommodating. Family friendly! Delicious breakfasts. We've stayed at the Lodge and in the big house- both are just wonderful, comfortable, and have all we need for a lovely stay. We'll always stay here!!

Home away from home. Our favorite Texas beach destination. Best B&B we've experienced! Family friendly! No night minimum and no haggling. Book in advance though this gem is being discovered!!!
