Southside Barbacoa

Great little spot for some good food. Prices are very reasonable and the food quality is very good. Sometimes they get busy, so keep in mind if you see a lot of cars outside, you will have a wait. Otherwise, get in here and try some delicious barbacoa!

The food is awesome. People usually come here for the Barbacoa but try the Picadillo plate!

ROACH IN MY TORTILLAS. The service is always unfriendly even though I try to be friendly and kind and helpful here, I'm always met with short temper or attitude. Never a welcome or thank you ever. I've been here 5 times and they have the best Barbacoa but it is always dirty and cluttered inside. The roach was the icing on the cake. I can't come back here anymore. I was offered no discount, just a basic "sorry about that". I couldn't finish eating, I'm actually leaving now to go get a taco somewhere.

Barbacoa is so good; hardly any fat and meat is juicy and tender. A must go to when in Corpus Christi.

Came here to try out a spot that I've had on my list for a long time. I arrived at about 11:15am on a Saturday and the place was packed. I guess it is on a lot of peoples' lists!I decided to get take out since all the tables were taken and their was a line of folks waiting for tables. I decided to get something with a lot of different food choices so I could sample through them. The taco was very good. The shell was better than usual. The tostada was great. The enchilada was one of the best I've had! I should have gotten an enchilada meal and I would have been a whole lot happier. The gravy was groovy and the cheese enchilada was surprisingly beater than the meat version. Pro-tip: Don't go to the restaurant counter if you want take out. There's a special window/booth thing to the left that specializes in taking out a TON of food if that's your choice. Go over there and you have a lot of other good options.

So good! This place is awesome. Coffee was terrible but the food made up for it. We will be back probably every weekend.

It was sOo gOod . Restaurant was pretty busy & we didn't have much time so we jUs piCkEd a lb of barbacoa & it was sOo gOod!! Happy we stopped

Got a tip from a friend about this place. I was blown away. Best hangover breakfast ever. This is our new go to Mexican breakfast in corpus. I had the barbacoa taco and cheese enchilada plate. The flour tortillas looked and tasted homemade and were large and in charge. Barbacoa was amazing, not greasy at all. Perfect amount of fat nicely accented by onions and cilantro. Enchiladas amazing. Rice amazing. Beans amazing. I can't wait to go back to corpus so I can eat here again.

Their barbacoa is the best. I always buy the cheek meat and it's not greasy or too salty!The tortillas are the best in town I don't eat flour tortillas, but I do theirs!They are thin and homemade.Their potato egg and bacon tacos are superb!Most places boil their potatoes...they do not It's the best place and customer service is fantastic!!
