Fabulous location and a management team that stays on top of what matters in keeping this place top notch. Pros: CLEAN heated pool & spa; Decent WiFi; well kept grounds and public spaces. Quiet times are enforced. Great for working folks and families. Close to Port A beaches, grocery stores and hardware stores. Cons: small showers/little to no privacy- these could use a makeover.

We have our RV here full time and the park is always kept clean and well maintained. The inner roads are wide and have plenty of space at the sites as well. Lots of activities going on throughout the year (mostly a few times a month). Holidays are celebrated with plenty of activities. They have a dog park, 3 catch and release fishing ponds, pickle ball, swimming pool, shuffleboard, and more.

Parks is clean and well kept, I give them that. The guys that do maintenance are hard working and do a great job But my stay was less than good. Pat made snarky comments to me, including one that always stuck with me "what do you do with all of this stuff?" When I received a few packages. It was extremely unprofessional and quite frankly, none of her business. I felt judged by the front office ladies any time I had to go to them about something, as did many others. Wifi? Thats's a joke. For as much as the park charges you'd think they'd have their wifi working? Nope. During my entire 9 month stay at this park they just kept claiming "we'll have it up and running soon!" Never happened. This place is also FILLED with stickerburrs. You or your kids can't touch the grass without them stabbing your feet, let alone your poor dogs. They also get tracked inside your camper and HURT!!!! They will also make you move your camper if someone else wants your spot. They did it to numerous other people I spoke to at the park, as well as me. Even when my reservation showed I still had another month in that spot. Oh, I was only going to be at the part for another 1-2 weeks too. So I had to pack up and move two spots over.Cant spend the money on sidewalks so people can stop walking in the middle of the road, a better dog park or even a better playground area that's not filled with stickerburrs...But GREAT NEWS!!! They have pickleball and shuffleboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great place to stay. About a 20 minute drive to Corpus Christi and all that offers. Nearby there is a large Walmart, HEB, Lowe's, Walgreens, and plenty of places for eating and drinking. The park is beautiful, although it gets really hot in the summer due to the lack of shade. The swimming pool, games room, library, laundry room, catch and release lake, and public rest rooms are nice, clean and well equipped. The fenced in dog park is really nice, allowing some free running space and to meet some new friends! The parking lots are spaced out and not "on top of each other". Lastly, the office and grounds staff are absolutely fabulous and make staying here an even more pleasurable experience.

If I could give a -5 I would. Double booked our spot and are making us move at the end of the month. We will never stay there again. I've been traveling for work for 10 years and trust me it's not worth it. The people are asshats and nosey as well. We wasted 700 + electricity

Everything is kept clean and management makes sure that all of the people in the park are following the rules. The rules are meant to keep the park clean and safe which is what a lot of people don't understand and get upset whenever they are acknowledged for being filthy and disorderly. Pat at the front office is the best, along with everyone else.Amenites:Large activity CenterSwimming PoolLaundry FacilitiesFitness Center/Mail RoomShowersBeautiful Dog ParkSpacious SitesAnd many more!We appreciate Southern Oaks RV resort for everything they've done for us so far and we are not going anywhere!

This place is 5 stars all the way. I've never seen such a nice RV resort before. It's so clean, lots of space, so many activities, the people are friendly as well as the staff. The club house has a nice workout room if you can't get out to walk around the grounds for some reason. There are plenty of washers and dryers in the laundry room. And the pool is located right there too! They are just finishing up the new dog park. I can't wait to get my pup out there. I haven't tried the pickleball or the shuffle board yet, but plan to very soon. The office staff are always so helpful. When we had to make some changes to our reservation or ask other questions, they were right there to help us. And the grounds crew are always out cleaning the place up, mowing and working on new improvements. The owners defiantly take pride in their park!

My husband and I came to Southern Oaks from another park that we loved. They sold the park and were weren't happy so we moved here to Southern Oaks. We never thought we would find another park that we loved. I can say we love it here more than the other park. The new management is amazing. The park has so many amenities. If you are looking for a great park that feels like family give Southern Oaks a call.

I would be leaving a 5 star review right now if only it weren't for one single thing... the sticker burrs. I will start with the good: besides the sticker burrs, our stay was completely pleasant. The park was beautiful, very well maintained, in a convenient location, and felt very safe at all times. The fishing ponds were lovely and provided great fishing memories with our family. Our spot had such a gorgeous view of one of the ponds and it was so relaxing to look out over the water every day. There was lots of room between the spots, and plenty of land to take a walk on and for the kids to run around and play. The sites were smooth and even. The laundry facilities and rec center were very nice. There was basketball and other activities. The neighbors were very friendly, and from what I could tell, the staff were as well. It was an absolute joy to stay here, we experienced no problems... However, the sticker burrs alone were enough to ruin the entire experience and caused us to regrettably move elsewhere. It was by far the most insanely out of control sticker burr problem I've ever seen in my entire life. I'm pretty sure there wasn't even grass, it was just burrs. You could take 2 steps onto the ground and turn over your shoe and the entire bottom would be covered entirely by stickers. One time my child fell while running around, and he was completely covered in sticker burrs and hurt for many days from them. Our poor dog could hardly take a step onto the grass and whimpered and limped every time she had to go out to potty. The burrs ended up all over the concrete so there was really no escaping them. We had to wear tall leather boots just to walk anywhere. The stickers got in EVERYTHING. We'd find them in our laundry hidden inside of clothes, all over every bit of carpet in our RV, in the towels, blankets, shoes, everything. In fact, 3 seasons have passed since we last stayed there, and we are STILL finding sticker burrs in our RV from our short time at Southern Oaks alone. The burrs there are thriving and were the strongest sharpest most painful ones I've ever seen. They HURT. If it weren't for this one terrible problem, this would be the perfect RV Park, and I would be leaving a glowing 5 star review.

Great park, and staff; mostly winter texans (friendly and interesting) level cement pads with power and water, WiFi is good. No TV, though - but that is not what we came for ;) It is windy.
