South Texas Distillery Home of Wild Rag Vodka

Who would've thought there would be a vodka distillery smack in the middle of dusty South Texas?? I've always had a soft spot for Sandia, Texas - spent many a summer not far from there on Lake Corpus Christi. But now I have an even BETTER reason to frequent this tiny town!Using the label, "Wild Rag," South Texas Distillery produces two amazing vodkas; one traditional and one cinnamon-flavored!!The traditional vodka is SUPER SMOOTH with caramel notes and a clean finish. It mixes GREAT with just about anything or enjoy it over ice. The "Torch" cinnamon-flavored variety is like a party in your mouth! It's a little spicier than your average cocktail - like a handful of Red Hots with a nice kick afterward. You can't go wrong having a heavy hand when you pour this into a glass. The tasting and sales room are both on site and visitors are encouraged to try and buy. It's very easy to do both. This business is just getting ramped up, but the vodkas have already picked up a major distributor so you should be able to find it in liquor stores soon. BUT, don't let that keep you from making the voyage to this out-of-the-way location to see (and try) it for yourself. I think I'll keep getting my bottles from the source.

A perfect hidden South Texas gem where some of the best and most unique vodkas are produced. The tasting room had a relaxed atmosphere with a rustic layout and great service, it is so relaxing and it's so peaceful in there. Hand made cocktails featuring the local spirit are top notch, live music is featured as well. They offer tours of where the magic happens (I'll try to make it early enough next time) but definitely a positive, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy some locally made beverages. In addition to that you can buy bottles on site (I did). A nice small display of merchandise is available as well. We'll be back, and we highly recommend it if you're in the area.

Anytime I have an opportunity to Travel I enjoy doing different unique outings.... This trip was no different. We came to get a tour of course of this Vodka distillery. We also wanted to enjoy a tasty cocktail as well. Their prices are pretty reasonable and they have a nice variety of cocktails to choose from. Four dollars for cocktails.... The owner was very friendly and informative on the making of Vodka and how he got started in the business. His staff was also nice and greeted us with a warm beaming smile... The Vodka was really smooth and I even tried their cinnamon fire flavored Vodka. It was a really nice crowd of people that came in to indulge in a good drink and experince the tour. It is located in a little rural area that you would literally pass by if you were not looking for it. This is a place that I would tell friends about if they are down south or making a trip to Corpus Christi, Tx. *Drink Responsibly*

I'm so glad my friend & I took the trip to South Texas Distillery! The Aguilars are great folks, the staff were attentive with excellent service, & the Wild Rag mesquite bean vodka is smooth as silk. Highly recommend the Martinis.

I just watched an episode of Texas Bucket List featuring Wild Rag Distillery. I love the Wild Rag Texas Torch Cinnamon Flavored Vodka and so visiting this Distillery is now on my bucket list. I just wanted to bookmark it so I would remember to visit it next time we head to Corpus or San Antonio but it wasn't on Yelp yet. So here you go, Mr. Aguilar, this should help get even more visitors to your place!
