Smokin’ Moon BBQ & Beer Garden

Food was phenomenal. We enjoyed the brisket so much that we ordered more (5 pounds) the very next day. I have never had any better than at Smokin' Moon. We also did a sample of the wings and decided they were amazing as well.We had excellent service. Our server was friendly and patiently answered all our questions. It was our first time there, but would not be our last. The owner or manager came to check on us to see how we enjoyed our food. This is another kudos for this management.Ambience was inviting. If we had been able to hang out longer, we would have enjoyed the patio/bar area. Maybe next time.If there was a negative, I would ask them to use something else for the paper on my tray. My paper was soaked through to the tray which is not appetizing to me. Perhaps butcher paper or parchment paper would solve the soak.

Impressive! Great place, delicious Brisket, tasty BBQ, great location, amazing atmosphere, superb service, they greeted us, managers came out to see if everything was doing good, waitress were nice and attentive, they had the times right, sweet tea was one of the best in town, very clean place, music was wonderful, good volume not too overwhelming, my whole family enjoyed it. They have an outside dining area, it seems dogs are welcomed. They have a bar.

If you like smoked brisket or ribs with delicious sauce plus a cold coke or craft beer, this place is a must stop. We also had the smoked potato-- could not tell it was smoked but I loved the real butter and cheddar cheese. We enjoyed eating outside -- it was the perfect after church lunch stop. Probably need to go early to avoid a rush -- we went about 11:30 am and it was perfect

Came over the weekend around 1pm. First time eating here as well. We were told to sit anywhere and that we would be attended to in a few. Our hostess was great. She explained the menu and took our orders. I had the brisket tacos on flour tortillas. The tortillas did not have a "home made" taste but where good nonetheless. I liked the queso fresco as well on my tacos. Tried my tacos with the pico de gallo and it was just right. They were served with a green salsa that I didn't try since I'm not into hot or spicy. Also had the brisket nachos. The portion was huge. Three of us couldn't finish them. They as well were good.Overall, the place was clean and relaxed. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was tasty. Great option for bbq when in the area.

First time here! So many amazing food choices to pick from. Staff was so friendly and helpful to make my decision. I had the Cajun chicken sandwich and Blue Envy drink. Lovely place if you haven't been stop looking and do it!

Place is clean. Employees friendly. Over $100 dollars for mediocre bbq and sides.Mac was dry. Chicken was dry. Sausage was bland. Ribs did not fall off the bone and had a very sticky glaze to them. BBQ sauce was good, they have spicy bland regular. Brisket was average. Potato salad was great! Glad we gave it a try but won't be back.

Food was delicious, service was quick and easy and restaurant was clean. Only negative was the bar area music was loud and had vulgar lyrics (door remained open between bar and restaurant due to employees and customers going back and forth.

The owner and GM Javier came over and chatted with me. Told them they have something special here. The baby backs 5/5. Brisket lean 4.5/5.0. Sausage 5/5. Turkey 4/5. Tater salad 5/5. Slaw 4/5. Mac n cheese 5/5. Corn 6/5. Sauces spicy 5/5. Sweet 4/5. Everything was amazing including customer service. I will definitely be back! Support local businesses!!!

I am a huge fan of brisket and this restaurant has some of the best brisket I have ever eaten. It is tender, moist and has excellent flavor. The sides are very good also, especially the baked beans. If you are looking for a chill place to enjoy a really good barbecue feast - this is the place to go in McAllen.
