Prior to my appointment I called as a new patient after my health insurance gave me a list of options. So I called this place & Told then I would like my teeth cleaned & I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant. The lady over the phone was very processional & only told me to arrive 15 min early to fill out some paper work. Then when I get there the following week, the lady immediately told me "oh sorry, we won't be able to see you today unless you have a clearance from your doctor". I then said, well, they didn't tell me that over the phone? And now it's 10 minutes from my appointment. She said, oh well we wouldn't be able to clean your teeth anyways because the doctor has to look at x-rays & then he decides if the cleaning is necessary. I just drove drown from Houston to get my teeth cleaned before I see my OBGYN. So moral of the story this place wasted my time & wont be back. The lady at the front counter needs to be more knowledgeable & professional.

These people are all out crooks!!! My 25 y/o son made an appointment for a broken tooth. He was going to need root canal an a crown. This place will take payments, and as the whole country is suffering financially, my husband and I agreed to help our son out by paying the cash down payment of $275.92 and allowing Smilepoint Dental take the bi-weekly payments of $55.78 out of our bank account. I should have known I was asking for problems the minute I went in to make the down payment and sign the paperwork... the receptionist was confused as to how to name change from $300.00 - I finally gave her $280.00 and explained how much change to give. As my son had two insurance policies, I asked if the insurance paid more than Smilepoint estimates, would they stop taking the payments out of our bank account right of way. Crickets! I was finally told the person who could answer that question was out of the office but would call me later. That was October 22, 2020. That day, my son had the root canal and the temporary crown. According to their printed treatment plan, for that tooth, they were going to bill the insurance company about $1,900.00. They Estimated our portion to be around $1,000.00. I KNEW this amount would be substantially less as there were 2 insurances. I also knew there would be contractural discounts... and I was right! The first insurance paid all but the deductible and 20% leaving a patient balance of less than the initial down payment! They took the first payment from my bank account of $55.78.... I waited to see what the other insurance would do before contacting the office. Finally got that EOB and found out that wow, smilepoint dental billed BOTH insurances the same amount and was paid all but the deductibles on each - showing we owed way less than the $275.00 Down payment we made. I began contacting them to see what needed to be done to stop the payments coming out of my bank account. Each time I called, I got a different person and was promised a call back within 24 hours. No one has called me. In the meantime they have stolen from my bank account $278.00! I cannot get them to call me and explain to me why I am getting this money taken out of my account and when they will stop stealing money from me! I've tried to report them to the state board but because it involves fees, they won't accept a report. I've contacted my bank, but because it is a "contract" I cannot stop payments. I now have to hire a lawyer. Do yourself a favor, DONT darken their doorway - they are a joke and downright thieves!

We love the dentist at Smile Point is Victoria so when it came time to get our daughters braces we decided to go with the orthodontist that is associated with this office as well. We had a great consolation appointment our daughters and were excited to sign a contact for Invisalign braces. However by the second appointment we were already regretting this decision... The Invisalign trays did not come in on time (in 4 weeks) as expected. This would have been no big deal if we were notified before her scheduled appointment so that it could be rescheduled. Instead I took off of work early, pulled my daughter out of school and traveled 45 minutes to the office. We then waited over an hour to be called back. After being called back we waited another 15+ minutes to be told that the appointment should have been rescheduled and there was nothing to be done that day. It was then made very clear that multiple people knew the trays would not be in on time for this appointment date and that it needed to be rescheduled. Multiple people could have called to notify me but this wasn't done. To top off the frustration of this I was given the impression that this sort of thing happens often because of a major lack of communication between staff members.

I'm always anxious about bringing my special needs daughter to the dentist. She gets scared when she has to lay back in the chair. I explained that to everyone and they were so great with her! They made her laugh so she didn't even notice she was going back in the chair. The entire experience was great from the receptionists to the ladies who worked on her! The office was clean and decorated beautifully.
