Slick's Guide Service

Capt. Raymond wants to get on the fish. He networks with other guides and tries to coordinate where the most productive spots are. He will relocated many times if the bite is slow. All of the equipment was provided and was excellent quality. His boat is in showroom condition. This guy is kind of quiet. He is happy to accommodate whatever and however you want to do but you have to ask. He is very patient with kids and made a point of getting them fish first and foremost. I would give him a try. Don't expect game show host personality. He will do what it takes to get you a great day fishing.

Luckily we didn't pay for this guy's service. We came on a fishing tournament and were guest of our shingle supplier. He doesn't know where to catch fish and spent most of his time calling other boats to get info. The one keeper we caught, he had the nerve to call me "lucky"for catching it. Horrible attitude and rude demeanor. Barley brought any live bait and used mostly frozen cut bait. Also he was late to pick us up for the tournament which effected our speckled trout catching.

I use Capt Slick for my tournaments and he always puts on the fish! We never have to wait, he is professional and knows where the fish are. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Horrible! Avoid this guide at all costs. Showed up late, swearing like a sailor with my kid on the boat. We caught two fish and they were too small to keep. I understand the nickname "Slick" now and will never use Captain Raymond Appel again. http://www.slicksguideservice.com/ His service and demeanor is the same as his website - needs much improvement.

We went on a bay fishing trip with Slicks Guide Service and will NOT be using them again in the future. I am no fishing expert, but I certainly would think a "Fishing guide" would have more knowledge than my family and I, but sad to say this was not this case with our guide. Any questions we asked were met with a very rude response, if we received much response from him at all. In case you're wondering, NO we did not catch much fish. The guide blamed it on the weather, but upon returning to the boat dock, we saw other boats with plenty of fish, some of them had even hit their LIMITS on certain fish (some even on guided trips such as us) It really seemed like this guy thought he had better things to do than to take paying customers out for a trip. We spent alot of money for a lot of nothing. In fact, we had better luck fishing off of our pier by our hotel. I would not recommend this guide to anybody.
