Stopped to eat at this local eatery and experienced good home cooking. Don't expect to get your food quickly since everything is made fresh. Big portions too.Nice waitress and tasty food. The chicken was great.

Still one of our favorites in Fal!!Great food. Only issue is the menu is very limited. But if you like the items on that menu they're all very good!!

I'm a native Texan that travels the US for work. My favorite thing to do on the road is find that "hole in the wall" that brings flavor And community together. Holy shit, by the grace of the enchiladas gods and a full bladder, I found this gem. And by gem, I mean nugget. Nugget of the best damn enchiladas that have kissed my lips. If you travel the corridor between the RGV and Houston and don't stop to try the enchiladas......Fool, damn fool.....If you don't like enchiladas, but the chicken fried steak, (National Dead Cow of Texas) is a carnivorous orgasm...Tip your waitress and don't U-Turn on Rice.....If you rate this gobblers galore less than 4, go back to Oklahoma!

Good eats are lean between San Antonio and Laredo, but Side Door is worth a detour. My last visit featured the entire Brooks County law enforcement community dining together, it seemed, so you know it's good just from the number of squad cars parked out front.Everything's good. Nice service. Reasonable prices. My fave is the half chicken fried steak with fries and sweet tea. Give it a try. So much better than the corporate fast food along 35.

Just go. Don't miss this unsung gem. Old Texas style enchiladas. Great chicken fried steak. Good gravy! Go!

Passing through and grabbed lunch here. Really good! The French fries were delicious-obviously fresh cut fries. Huge portions also come in 1/2 portions, which should tell you something. The chicken fried steak was delicious, and so were the pork chops.

The most amazing chicken fried steak and enchiladas I have ever had. Oh, and the chips! So fresh and served hot. Nothing but great things to say about this place.

If you are craving for a Great Chicken Fried Steak like we were and looking for a place to eat in Falfurrias, the Side Door did not disappoint!!Service was exceptional! Small place but Friendly,Cozy, and the food was delicious.

The food is terrific but they almost never answer the phone and don't have a reliable schedule for their weekly hours, it's as if they're never open.
