Sharkies On The Beach Bar & Grill

Great little place with cheap drinks, that Texas country feel and live music which is great. Upstairs and downstairs. Only a 4 to 5 minute drive from surfside, Freeport. Open until 2am on weekends. Great place to chill after the beach.

Total Dive Bar and we loved it! The people were so nice and the food was great and moderately priced.Great atmosphere for us vacationing in the area!!

Great service, food, and drinks. The kids enjoyed playing in the sand and swinging on the swings after lunch as well.

Good food, pub grub. Nice deck, smoking allowed outside only. Definitely a good place to hang out on the beach.

Food took 2 hours and the bar and entire restaurant was basically empty apart from 3 tables. Took over an hour for 3 bottled Millers. Waitress never said anything about a possible wait, never checked on us, and went and sat down at a friends table to talk while we were still waiting on drinks, food, appetizers, and utensils. She could not even bring a water for my pregnant friend; had to go in and get almost everything for ourselves (drinks, utensils, napkins, to-go boxes, and checks). DO NOT GO HERE EVEN IF YOU'RE STARVING. P.S. 50 cents for EVERY water.

This place sucks service is horrible nonexistent. Spend more time talking about the customers behind the counter, then actually serving their food. Cheeseburger was very good. I got up and went to the bar to pay stood there waiting on them to quick talking shit about me and my family because all the went to the bathroom and I was standing at the bar they thought we left with out paying. Most really be a problem here because of the horrible people just won't pay I guess.

My husband and I dropped in here around 1 o'clock on a Saturday to grab some lunch. It was a gorgeous day and there were several couples sitting out on the patio deck area. We walked in the front door and there was nobody sitting inside. We were greeted by a friendly waitress and told to sit wherever we wanted so we chose to sit inside. We sat there for a bit and then she asked us if we wanted menus. We said yes. She brought them over and asked what we wanted to drink. I'm a water drinker and so is my husband so we asked for two waters with lemon. She told me they were out of water- water bottles, and that her boss had left to go buy some at the store. She stated that I would not want to drink the tapwater. That's fine, I probably wouldn't have. So I asked if they had Coke zero. No to that. So I asked if she had iced tea... Her answer was I think we have a jug downstairs. What? So since that was becoming my only choice, I said yes to the tea, so did my husband. When we got our tea, it was rancid and barely drinkable.When she came back to our table, she announced that they were out of jalapeño poppers and potato keggs, which was fine, because we weren't going to order that. So I order something else... I honestly can't remember what it was now... But they were out of that too. I just decided on an appetizer of gator balls and my husband ordered the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich with fries. My appetizer was to come with fries or pub chips, so I ordered pub chips.While waiting on our food, I had a great view of the window looking into the kitchen. The cook looked like he had literally crawled out of a dumpster in order to come to work that day. Long greasy hair and beard, very long beard. He was wearing a very dirty baseball cap and a tank top shirt. At one point I noticed smoke coming out of his nostrils. And I thought surely not, surely he's not smoking in the kitchen while he's cooking our food. But at one point, he leaned up against the window Looking out into the restaurant and yes, he was not smoking cigarettes, but he was vaping. I'm not sure how the health department sees that but I see it as a negative.When they brought out our food, the waitress put it in front of us and turned away and went outside to wait on other tables. My husband's order was correct but my appetizer came with fries and not the pub chips. I ate the gator balls, but left the french fries alone so that I could ask for pub chips. It was a good 15 minutes before she ever came back to our table and then I told her that I had ordered the pub chips so, she did place that order, and made that right. The pub chips were actually very good.Several other people came in while we were there, and I heard them order things that were not available also. This may be a great place to go and hang out and drink a lot but if you're gonna be a restaurant too, you need to be prepared and train your staff. It is in a great location, and it would be a great place for a restaurant!

We didn't stop this time for food. Sharpies hosted an Easter egg hunt for the kids. No purchase necessary. They had snack, activities and the Easter Bunny. My grandkids had fun and found candy, money, confetti eggs and chalk eggs. They said it was the best one in the area. THANK YOU, Sharkies!!! Next time we stop it'll be to enjoy something from the menu.

2nd time we've eaten here. Food is good, service was good. Will try again if we're in the vicinity
