Convenient and clean Price is very hard to beat. Pier, restaurants and food are all right there

Although newly remodeled, the mattress was horrible, we got no sleep. No hot water if you want a morning shower.The pool and hot tub were OK.

Very friendly staff. Summer was super nice. Clean rooms and basic no frill motel/motel. FYI. The advertised breakfast is not currently available. But now issue here as San Juan is next door.

I'm only giving a star at all because the owners and staff are super friendly. It's locally owned and they are wonderful people. BUT.... Staying here was a TERRIBLE experience. A nightmare. It is such a loud complex and there is no common place "quiet time". If you're the type of person who is in constant party mode or you just never sleep at night, then this is the place for you. There was probably a 2 hour time frame between 4a-6a when it wasn't as loud. This is no exaggeration. Shark Reef Resort motel is perfect for people with no self awareness and/or people who party 24/7. The walls are super thin so every bump sounds like your neighbors are repeatedly and intentionally running full sprint into the walls. Everyone sits outside their rooms playing music and drinking, which is fine, but here it's 24/7. The neighbors were yelling and laughing as loud as they could... all night. I did complain, of course, but the staff couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it. Anyway, we only got a couple of hours sleep which made our 8 hour drive the next day quite difficult. On top of everything, someone vandalized my truck and puked on it. The staff must have told them the room number that complained. We wouldn't stay here again nor will I recommend it to anyone. If they could get control of unruly guests and/or stop putting families who just want peace and quiet in the middle of it, this would be a nice little place to stay.

The worst resort in the area. Stay away it was dirty disgutsing and a fire hazard. We left the night we checked in and they still charged me for the few days,

the owner was disrespectful and completely incompetent, she was innecessarily hostile and rude to her guests.

Terrible owner will scam you if possible scammed me and my wife out of 500 dollars would not offer refund

Needed a last minute place to stay so I didn't do my due diligence on any of the local hotels. But this place is not like the pictures. Rooms are nonrefundable plus they charge like $125 deposit at the time you check in as well. I hope to get it all back. The door to my room had a loose door handle and the door was tough to close. So maintenence is needed. No phones in rooms. Towels were small and you don't get daily clean ones either unless you go to the office to ask for some. Same with the bed sheets. No cleaning service here. Also, the bed mattress is a spring mattress. When I went to lay on it, I felt like the bed was tilting toward the wall at the head side so I was sleeping on a slight decline from foot to head.My room was missing the TV remote. I called the office well before they closed and got a voicemail. Had to walk over 10 min later after no callback only to find someone walk out from the back. When I asked if they answer the phone, she rudely said "No, and what can I do for you?" Clearly she was not busy in the back.Now that I've had time to read other reviews, I can see why this place didn't have many staying here and I won't be a repeat customer.

We've been staying here several times a year for the last I don't even know how many years! I'd say at least 8. We've never had problems before and it was always the place we'd book without second thought. However, this most recent trip we took this weekend left us so disappointed! They had been in the middle of renovating the rooms the last time we stayed and by the looks of it, they finished by this visit. However, there were several issues with our room we had to deal with. 1. There's a gap under the door that lets in sand, water, air and noise!2. The showers never have any pressure so as a girl with thick hair, it takes forever to rinse the shampoo out of my hair.3. Our bed this time was SO uncomfortable!! It was very low, had NO box springs (literally just the mattress on the frame), the mattress itself was old and stiff but had holes where 2 people normally lay on the sides of the bed but was slightly raised in the middle. On top of that, the sheet seemed dirty! It had some dog hairs on it which thankfully we don't mind having 3 dogs at home but it's the idea behind it as well as all the dust and staining on the sheet near the headboard.4. We like our room pretty cool, normally around 65-68 but when we got there and checked in, someone had left it on 61!!!! We instantly pushed it up and we're fine until it stayed freezing and not until the last day of our stay did we realize the remote in our room for the AC didn't actually go to that AC unit at all! 5. We weren't left a do not disturb sign either. Because of that, the housekeeps walked in our room TWICE! The first time we were in the bathroom, I was showering, my boyfriend brushing his teeth and he heard the door. By the time he stuck his head out of the bathroom door they had gone but left towels on the bed! Our door was locked and we there! We never heard a knock either. The second time was the morning of check out. Again, our door was locked and we were laying in bed waking up. We heard a knock on the door and before even announcing who they were, the guy OPENS OUR DOOR while saying "housekeeping!" Until he saw our faces in bed, jaws dropped and quickly left. Honestly unbelievable. 6. The stopped doing their continental breakfast because of Covid but then just quit all together. So instead of going to the lobby for waffles and orange juice, we have to drive somewhere unless we packed something but we almost never get a kitchenette so that's rare. 7. There's always LOUD and DRUNK people that either stay out in the pool past quiet hour or their out sitting on the benches outside of the rooms just yelling and laughing as if the rooms are in any way noice cancelling. Did I mention you can CLEARLY hear what people are saying outside of your room and sometimes through the walls? Now we're normally very easy going, easy to please and like I mentioned, this is our normal place of stay. We're never ones to complain and normally just deal so this was really disheartening for us. One of our biggest upsets was that this trip we only got to stay 2 nights rather than our normal 3 or 4. It was the same price this time for 2 nights as it normally is when we stay for FOUR! We didn't even take our dog this time, either. Hopfully next time it's better and they'll adjust their prices because as of right now it's not worth it. We could've paid the same price at a different place for more nights and a more comfortable stay. At least when it comes to customer service their pretty nice. Only one lady answers that sounds very disinterested- she's not rude at least that I've seen,just isn't very nice with her voice. Anyways, thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

Please find another place to stay if your looking to get any sleep! They have it posted that they are open 24 hours. Not true sign said be back at 9am. This is after we were told coffee is served at 8 am to 10am. Went to get the right linens for a pull out couch they had only given me 1 flat sheet and something that looked like a packing blanket. No fitted sheet or another flat. Office was closed.We went to complain about the party outside our room window but office was closed. Party continued till 4 am. We were told the next morning that she wouldn't have done anything about the noise because she got punched one time before. That we should have done something about it! It was our job! No it's not! Get security if you have issues doing your job. Great customer service! NOT! She was polite in a bitchy way. Basically the attitude of "oh well not my problem" . If you look at the reviews you will see they take no accountability for anything that goes on in that place it is everyone else's fault. Our mistake for not reading the reviews. My sister was excited to stay in such a retro place. Cute on the outside ugly on the inside! This goes for the staff too. We paid for a room to get some rest. That did not happen! They offered no compensation for our troubles and in a round about way blamed us! Would never recommend this place! EVER! Oh and please write a response on this review because it will only prove my point!
