We have been coming to Port A for many years. Our favorite village was booked so I found this place. It has 8 villas to choose from and can fit 6-8 guest comfortably. We booked Villa 5"Coral Reef." Booking is easy and done quickly online. I am attaching pics of my room, entrance, pool and layout of the place. You are able to access your room with a special access code. No key needed! This came in handy since we arrived very late at night. Huge living area with tv (cable and Hulu). Full sofa bed and love seat. Nice kitchen area including everything you need: dishwasher, oven, fridge, and pretty much all you need in a kitchen (blender, pots, pans and toaster, coffee maker). Love the bathroom. Large with wonderful toilet that flushes nicely and great shower. There was a dead medium sized roach hiding (but it was dead!) Bedroom had one king and one king sized bed. Another nice flat screen tv. Huge closet and dressers (didn't use them). Beds were comfy, clean, sheets smelled fresh, extra pillows and linens in the closet. You controlled AC. You are not right next door to someone so the place is quiet and only 8 villas sharing one pool versus one hotel sharing one pool. The place is dog friendly as long as they aren't puppies. We brought our small dogs with us. There is NO grass for animals to do their business. So you have to walk them out in the street (pass the entrance because they have green grass turf) until you see real grass. We paid summer weekend rate $275 a night but considering the cleanliness, location and quietness of the area, I think it was worth it. The pool is very nice. Looked like everything in our place was newly decorated and modern. Floors were a little dirty but honestly it is hard to keep beach places sand free. They had an on sight laundry room too. No direct beach access but we like to haul all our crap to the beach and need our vehicle. A few minutes from all restaurants and shops. Check in 3pm and 11am check out. Wifi was a little hit and miss at times. And that is all I have to say about that.

I have everything good to say about this place. Our usual place was booked for our all girls annual trip this year so we found this place on line! We stayed in Villa one the Captains Quarters with easy access to the pool and grills, the condo was super clean, very stylish, beds were comfy, loved the walk in shower, the condo had pretty much everything we needed to make our stay easy and fun, lots of privacy. They even had a hose to spray down the truck bed of all the sand before we headed out. Jacenda the owner made it a point to introduce herself and ask if we needed anything to just let her know. This will be our new place annually!!

By far the best place to stay on the island. This is our third time at Shadow Palm. The owners are super responsive and friendly. This place is great for couples or families. Close to the beach. Great pool. The condo has everything you'd need. Clean and the beds are super comfy. The AC is great too. This is our Go-To when we come to Port A.Highly recommend!!

ZERO STARS. In nearly 50 years of Port A stays, this was the worst I can recall. Don't be fooled by the pictures. This is the silliest resort concept I've ever seen. The interior walls are rough as 50 grit sand paper, the same as the exterior. The landscaping along the sidewalks is prickly, spiky, sharp, and overgrown. The parking lot is a long way from most rooms. They "provide" a filthy construction wheelbarrow for luggage transport. Each television requires multiple remotes to function. They only had remotes for one television and apologized they weren't going to provide more. You had to go room to room to operate other televisions; absurd. No remotes were provided for ceiling fans. I repeat, ZERO ceiling fan remotes for 3 remotely operated fans. In a 4 day stay they never bought and/or provided a single fan remote. No light in the stinky, sweltering entry room (where someone must've cleaned fish). It was impossible to enter the place without a flashlight in the dark. We had to put a lamp from our bedroom in there ourselves. Late the second day we got a feeble excuse that a special light bulb was on order. The third evening the excuse was the (clearly brand new) fixture was rusted?!?! There IS NO service here, just dysfunction and excuses. The fan was stuck on high in the master. You had to sleep under gale force winds or nothing at all. The fan was stuck on low in the living room. It was muggy & uncomfortable. The elderly woman who appeared to be the maintenance person had no drive, no sense of urgency, and obviously no ability to do basic maintenance. We called and texted for days but they just made excuses until we were gone. There are so many reasons not to stay at Shady (Shadow) Palm. At the very least, don't knowingly ruin your vacation because you can't get to, sleep, watch tv, or relax comfortably in your "villa." If you do choose to stay here, bring your own tools, machete, remotes, light bulbs, repairmen, electronics expert, febreeze, heavy duty puncture and abrasion proof clothing, a construction worker proficient with wheel barrows, and a ton of patience. Shady (Shadow) Palm is an overpriced, poorly executed, Spring break crash pad at best.
