Sewing Ladies

I was going to take my stuff to the sewing ladies. But after reading the reviews no thank you ladies. I will take my stuff to somebody else.

I took my wedding dress in for alterations on July 28th. I was told they were on about a two month wait list, no big deal. One week shy of the two month mark I called and asked if we were still on that timeline and they confirmed they were. Three weeks after the two month mark I called and inquired again and was told the seamstress was out on vacation and would be for the next ten days and my dress was not ready yet. I called after the she was back from vacation (at this point just shy of the 3 month mark - October 22nd) and was told they had started to work on my dress. I respectfully requested that it be done by November 1st as that was well over the time frame we agreed to in the beginning, I was told it would "most likely" be done by then. Today, November 2nd, I called and was really hoping to hear that my dress was at least close to done... that was not the case. I was AGAIN given the run around about how complicated it was and how I had to wait my turn. When I asked if they could have it done by the end of the week they told me to "just come get it" as she didn't want to work on it anymore. This woman wouldn't even hear me out that I had been waiting so long. Didn't care how close my wedding day is. She was completely heartless and I was in tears when I came in to get my dress without the seamstress even coming out to say anything. The most aggravating part is that in over three months that they had my dress in their possession they had done maybe half an hour worth of work to it (seam ripped about 12 inches of stitching). I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. I'll even be calling the other seamstress who had too much work to take me on and recommended them to advise that she stop doing so. What an absolutely waste of my time, energy and gas to take my dress here. Will never step foot in here again.

Debbie has done Alterations for me since 1998. She does great work. I've always had good results with the work that she has done for me. From coats sleeves to complete redo.

Way too expensive, she hemmed one dress, shortened sleeves in a knit tshirt, 65.00 +, way too much!

Wish I read Jose's review before I went there. Did not do a good job on the embroidery I hired them to do. Absolutely terrible experience.I do NOT recommend The Sewing Ladies. I always prefer to do business locally but unfortunately they care more about being right than customer satisfaction. Will have to go elsewhere in the future.I had to have some embroidery done but the seamstress was not able to match the embroidery already on my jacket. Instead of communicating with me that she wasn't able to match the current embroidery she decided to do the best she could. I really felt that it was not professional and I was disappointed. I would've liked to bring the jacket elsewhere for this particular project since she couldn't match the embroidery and there was a very noticeable difference (my first name ended up being a completely different size and font than my last name). I was thankful for her work and offered to pay to have the previous text removed but ask that I take the jacket elsewhere. She said that she knows best and that it is not customary for her to communicate this type of information with the customer. She refused to give me the jacket back unless I paid full price which I did not feel the price matched my expectations and it was not fair.

Wayyyy to pricey. Have had the same alterations done elsewhere cheaper without any excuses or surprising charges. I gave them a 1 year break but still disappointing since I returned. His and hers in Corpus does a better job and is reasonably priced for the same job. Also, no room for negotiation with surprise "necessary " charges.

I have been a customer of the Sewing Ladies for seven years and always have experienced friendly courteous service. Alterations have always been done in a professional manner. Never had a problem of any kind with the staff or quality of work. Would definitely give the Sewing Ladies a five star rating!

Well I'm extremely disappointed. I took my wedding dress here for some minor alterations. Alterations which I suggested, but as a "Professional Seamstress" she should have known that it would have caused more problems with the dress, she never called me in for a fitting before final alterations were made, which could have avoided a lot of error. She had my dress for three months. And now with a month til my wedding, I've had to find another seamstress to fix the mess she made.. which includes chopping off some the applique, also she cut about inches from around my shoulders that allows me to NOT BE ABLE LIFT MY ARMS UP. I'm not even going to be able to dance with my husband at this point! When tried to discuss with her about the issues and that I had to take the dress somewhere else... she said " I don't know what to tell you". In my opinion his lady does not know what she is doing. She will tell you that she make whatever alteration you want , whether or not it's doable.
