WOULD NOT EXCHANGE a $20 item that was unsatisfactory for a different item. The cashier was sweet, but I didn't have a receipt, because I almost never have to return anything, and she couldn't lookup my purchase (cash). I explained I had my ID and just wanted to exchange it, I am a Beauty Insider member and have been for years. I go there often. The person who sold me the item last Thursday (I bought 5 items, about $130), didn't ask if I was an Insider member so my purchase was not recorded. I paid cash to keep my credit down. I have never had an issue with Sephora in the past. The supervisor that came to help did NOTHING to help other than reiterate that the cashier couldn't help. I only wanted to exchange it since the item I bought smudged on everything and didn't work as described. It probably cost the company $20 just for the payroll for the cashier to struggle to figure it out, walk to the back of the store, get the supervisor, just to explain that they could not help. Now I have an unsatisfactory item that I cannot use. I'll go to Ulta next time, they always ask for my rewards at the time of purchase without fail.
